Got the deed done at my dealer (Porsche Tonbridge) last week. Even though my 997.2 has sports chrono, they still fitted the exhaust button onto the dash (to the right of the sports plus button). Really glad about that as I didn't like the idea of it engaged solely with the sports/sports plus button engaged.
As to actually how it looks sounds and feels, here goes.
Looks!
When I first saw pictures of the PSE I hated it. Some have already mentioned the 'circumcised' look. When I finally physically saw one last month I did a complete about turn. I thought the PSE looked great. Very purposeful and aggressive looking. As has been mentioned already here, because the black inserts stick out the outer silver metal stays nice clean ALL the time. So overall I'm totally chuffed in the looks department.
The Sound!
Whilst the note does get a little louder (not by much IMO), the 'note or tone' is completely different than the standard exhaust. It's definitely a deeper sound and has a slightly hollow tone to it in the same way you would expect a high performance (non V8/V12) engine to sound. If I were trying to put together a number of machines to create this sound I'd say it sort of sounds like a cocktail of Jet engine, washing machine and chainsaw all rolled into one [

The Feel!
Call it placebo effect but when accelerating from 6th/7th gear, the car most definitely seems less bogged down when accelerating from these high gears at lower speeds.
As I said, this could simply be my imagination playing tricks but I'm in the audio/video business where placebo has a permanent home and I try extra hard not to be taken in.
Cheers
