I have very luckily dodged a bullet, I collected my car in late April, only to find the Centre Locks were cloudy in colour, I complained, and whilst Porsche refused to change them, my OPC very kindly replaced them out of good will. they were eventually swapped out 4 weeks ago, 1 week before the recall, and the replacements, are the new compliant type. Very Happy boy

Spoke to my OPC today, my car is affected. Porsche UK told them today that if you’ve got a loan car, that will reduce the package they offer, so the Macan is going back.
I said that if I knew that from the start, I wouldn’t have taken the loan car, so as they’ve only just been told that today, this won’t be reflected in the offer Porsche make.
They also said that Porsche aren’t discussing goodwill with anyone until their cars are fixed, as it will be dependent on how long customer cars are off the road.

I'm surprised how many 992s are used through the winter
Booked in for Monday to have faulty parts replaced.

Really? Which dealer? We need more info, as most are still being told end of December/ January.
Here’s my 2penneth, I have an affected 992.1 GTS which took 2 years to arrive and was collected in January this year. I was informed by Porsche GB that 1200 cars are affected. Based on recent discussions with my OPC over trade in values these cars have depreciated this year by £3k per month so in my mind that is the benchmark and then there’s insurance, road tax, and storage to add. I would happily join a collective legal case if Porsche attempt to cheap out on compensation. Timescales for technical fix were described as not before January 2025.
i don't get why Porsche should cover the depreciation - the car will depreciate anyway, regardless of whether it is used or not. It may depreciate less as no miles are being added
As per above, whilst I have the benefit of the car then I should be exposed to depreciation. If I don’t have the car then I shouldn’t be exposed to the cost of it. By the way, my car has done 1400 miles since January and it is still costing £3k month in depreciation according to the OPC so being off the road for 3 months will make no difference.i don't get why Porsche should cover the depreciation - the car will depreciate anyway, regardless of whether it is used or not. Your car is depreciating whether you use it or not.
1400 miles this year suggests it won't see much winter use anyway. But that is just my assumption

Yep, that's about where I think the compensation should be. As mentioned above, if I'm getting use out of the car, I can handle the depreciation, but if it's just an ornament, I'm not happy taking the hit. I've had to cancel two trips so far, and was meant to be going to the Christmas markets in Germany in just over a week, so that's also been cancelled now. Not good, when I'm nearly 3 months into new car ownership.
I'm not unreasonable, but depreciation, road tax, insurance, storage and warranty all have to be taken into account when Porsche make these offers. I'm quite new to the brand, and am planing on many years with Porsche, so am optimistic that they will be making sensible offers when the time comes.
Fyi, in the US, OPC's are being given $115 per day from Porsche to contribute towards loan cars for customers, so that gives you an idea of what they are prepared to pay. That excludes any compensation.

Hi Paul, I paid over the odds for my Heritage 911 Turbo S back in May and unfortunately was told the same that mine was affected, took them 3weeks to send me a letter telling me not to drive it...they collected it last Thursday and I was given a Audi A6 hire car...an estate car, I also learnt from a reliable source that it could take up to 6months to put things right...what joke, they might as well buy the car back...Here’s my 2penneth, I have an affected 992.1 GTS which took 2 years to arrive and was collected in January this year. Hi Darren, I think you would have a reasonable argument to ask them to buy it back if it took 6 months. No sent them a video a couple of weeks ago of the build numbers on each wheel and they were the impacted batch so this is to fit the replacement centre locks on all four wheels. I thought it would be nearer Jan / feb from the forums so Good news.Great news. As in to get new centre locks? Not just the check to see if you’re impacted? If so that’s great news as loads earlier than we were lead to believe.
No I am just joking, of course really otherwise I wouldn’t have said it would I. The same as the compensation package I said earlier in the post and you seemed to suggest I was making up.Really? Which dealer? We need more info, as most are still being told end of December/ January.

I’ve bought Porsche for the last thirty years, will look on with interest how you get on getting them to cover depreciation costs, car tax, insurance etc etc.
................. I also learnt from a reliable source that it could take up to 6months to put things right...what joke, they might as well buy the car back...
6 Months??? That's a ridiculous amount of time.
There is no way I would let any OPC have my Targa for that length of time. No doubt it will be sat outside over the winter, packed tight with other cars and could even get the odd knock. Not to mention the rain, snow, ice and debris from strong winds.
Shocked to hear that OPCs allow or are happy for our cars to be sat outside and tortured over the winter months - no respect for our cars / the cars they sell....
Hi, it would be helpful if you would tell us which OPC is supporting you. ThanksBooked in for Monday to have faulty parts replaced.
