For those of you traveling to the vicinity on the Friday, so more good news from Exeter OPC...[:)]
I only said the other day, what a friendly bunch they seemed to be in that area..

They have offered us free tea and coffee, a free check of your cars lighting system and a free level check

Also available is something that many threads have ran about.... Nitrogen filled tyres[8D] however not free but they are offering this at half price (its usually £20)
So if you're in the area or passing, you may well find some of us there....[:)]

I'd better add their address..
Exeter OPC
Matford Park Road
Matford Business Park,
Marsh Barton Trading Estate,
Exeter,
EX2 8FD

If the tyres were filled with H2 would that reduce the unsprung weight?[;)] Nothing like getting off thread is there?[:D]

It could permanently reduce unsprung and sprung weight - there is a very energetically favourable reaction between H2 and the oil based synthetics in modern tyres, it becomes very exothermic and rapid under pressure and at temperature............

But as it is also a rather small molecule it mgiht well escape rather easilly from the tube seal and the tiny gaps around the edges of the tyres.........Noit that you'd want to be smoking when you fill the tryes up.....

The last place has been taken but I will continue with a reserve list for this event..

This is turning into the Red tour...... nearly half the cars on the trip are Red!!

Is that how we are to address you now then? "Good morning Mr Red"[;)]

"Sir" accompanied by an appropriate touch of the forelock will suffice!

Sorry, that meant to say I didn't think you had a forelock I could touch, sir[:)] It's ok, we serfs in the sticks know our place Master.......[;)]

As it was such a beautiful day we decided to trial the Saturday run today. I think you will enjoy it very much with the usual caveats about weather, traffic etc....
In total, with the Dartmoor "loop" I have just added, it is around 140 miles . We called in to the lunch stop for a chat and a coffee and discovered that the hotel is owned by Ted Stourton
http://www.tedstourton.com/
It is an amazing location (see piccies below) and there is an art gallery for those not wishing to walk across to the Castle site or down to the beach. We will be in the restaurant for our lunch and the views are stunning. More details about other stuff nearer the time.[:)]
These photos were taken from just in front of the hotel.

Cant wait, just hope the weather holds!

I did my Reading afternoon run on Sunday in glorious sunshine - found a few extra bits too to polish the route a little more. Aston Hill on the A40 in Sport Mode and not another car in sight was sooooo much fun [:D]

If that is the one leading up to Stokenchurch then I know just what you mean! Can be quite lively in the autumn as the beech trees shed their leaves. Assuming you were going south east had you earlier taken in the B4011 from Bicester to Thame. When it is quiet that has some nice sections too.

Must compare notes some time.

Cheers

I've started a new thread to make sure everyones read it [;)] but;

After the kind offer from the Exeter OPC to welcome us on the 16th, It's been decide to meet up for about 2pm at the OPC;

Exeter OPC
Matford Park Road
Matford Business Park,
Marsh Barton Trading Estate,
Exeter,
EX2 8FD

Its worth noting that Yes you can get it done cheaper but this is being done by experts in Porsche and they actually do two fills in order to remove as much existing air from your tyres. So a much better service and one I will be happily accepting[:)]

From there we have a route that takes us via the Shell fuel stations onto the nice route to the evenings hotel.
We plan to eat at a local recommended pub to save having to eat from the same menu for two nights running...

Obviously we accept that not everyone can make the daytime and some may have to arrive late on the night, so if you could let me know your plans it would be appreciated.
