SW Weekend 17th -18th April 2010

Sorry guys but my Porsche is out of action for a few weeks until I can get it up to Chris Franklin to fix. Looks like I have knocked my geo out again on the vast array of potholes I have been over recently. It's only on the drivers side that are well out of spec for toe and camber, so I think it was from probably when I ran over that big block of metal on the M4 at 70mph a few months back. The (now replaced) plastic under-tray damage was also on the right for that too.

Anyway, I can still come along, but I'm afraid I will have to bring my RS6 instead. I will still have 580bhp on tap therefore if I go as the rear chase car then I should have no problem keeping up.

So that's 3 interlopers now (me, Clive and Peter).

See you all about 9am on Sat!

Cheers,

-Alex

Sorry to hear about the proper car, Alex. 0930 would be better as we need to be under way at 0945, latest![;)]

No problem Alan. We can be there any time, I just couldn't recall the start details.

PS: it's all good as I think you'll find all 'proper' cars, like the RS6, have dry sumps ;)

Sorry to hear your woes Alex [:(]

I have sent an email out to the attendees with the suggested routes and timings.
If you haven't received it, do let me know.

I have prepared larger scale maps for both days along with route notes in any case Helen! See you Friday at Exeter.

I have sent another email out to the people attending.

In order to speed up the service of the groups dinner on the Saturday evening, the Hotel has asked if we would mind pre-ordering our food on the Friday ready for the Saturday.
The full choice of menus are open to us along with the specials board, so if you can take the time to let reception know on the Friday it would be appreciated..

Sorry Gary but no email received yet. Are you distributing menus as it's going to be a little hard to choose on Friday if we are not staying that night?

We'll choose something nice for you - followed by a bottle of Remy on your room number. [8D]

Sorry Alex, I didn't send it to you being as we knew you weren't there on Friday night. [:)]

I hope all these ash particles in the upper atmosphere don't cause it to rain this weekend!

Alan / Gary

Great weekend thanks for putting together 2 really good drives with fantastic scenery and lots of interest for all although I'm not quite sure about the light box or Ted Stourton somthing a bit odd there. Both Caroline and I had a really enjoyable time in no small part due to good organisation, great company, fantastic cars and of course helped by a bit of sunshine.

Thanks again and now looking forward to the next event in the Isle of Man.

Geoff & Caroline.

Thanks for a great weekend, guys and gals.

Good company, good roads, excellent weather and chance to use our cars as they are intended!

Particular thanks go to Brenda and Alan for their hard work. Putting on these events is always nerve racking.

And let's not forget Exeter OPC. Kevin and his staff were hospitable to us above and beyond the call of duty. [:D]

All in all, another highly successful 997 Register event. Not much in the way of photos from me, I'm afraid but here's a couple as a reminder until the big guns post up theirs! [:)]

Regards,

Clive
