The Modified Register Forum IS oPEN ....

James any pictures of this exciting machine please ..... sounds awesome, all that squirting! PS. Why not Dyno it 6th October?

Most of the modifications are invisible apart from the missing fog lights and AFM and it just looks like a 944 that could do with a respray. Cant make the Dyno day I'm afraid as I'm at a wedding, would have been nice to see the difference working boost control would make though.

Ha ha, no boost is controlled by the ECU (which is probably for the best), I have it set to around 10 psi at present (.7 bar). The manual one I had caused boost spikes or lower than expected boost. It doesn't make huge amounts of power compared to some but there is no lag to speak of and enough low down torque to drive it like a diesel taxi if feeling lazy.

Good to see this forum Des, Will have to spend more time here and less on D*K - or maybe just more time here! Tony

Ooops. Sorry about the slow reply, I haven’t been on here in a bit! I haven’t managed to find a buyer yet, so I still have a lovely black 944 Turbo. One of the reasons it won’t sell is that people mainly seem to want ‘factory standard’ Turbos nowadays because they’ve become rare!

The vented fibreglass front wings are the biggest visual modification. Other giveaways being the tinted windows, front splitter and 3" straight through exhaust. The rest is quite well hidden. Adjustable wastegate, custom short shift kit, some sneaky boost enhancements, a very nice stereo with an iPod concealed in the armrest and a subwoofer under the boot carpet …

Here goes, I bought this back in Dec '09, a nice stock 1980 924 turbo series 1

It immediately went to EMC Motorsport for GAZ Gold coilovers and brake refresh, then new tyres and a fair amount of fettling. I then found out it was originally painted Alpine White over Guards Red the UK launch brochure colours so it got a full bare metal repaint, 951 front panel welded in to accept a 951 FMIC later, Safety Devices full bolt in cage, Cobra seats, Momo wheel etc. etc. At the end of last year it got its Fuchs but then I broke the engine due to spirited driving and a few track days and sprints during the two years of ownership. A replacement engine lasted only 30 miles so I am now in mid build of a fresh motor with JE forged pistons, modified intake via the 951 FMIC and a full engine bay re paint and refresh. The goal is to make a reliable 220-240bhp @ 1.0bar in a 1100kg car, which should be nice!! Now (until the engine bay was stripped!) it looks like

Unlikely to be back on the road until Spring '13, but hopefully the wait will be worthwhile. The plan is to do a mix of shows, weekend fast road fun and a few track days/sprints/hill climbs and not bend it!

Indeed ..... I have a very rare beast, bit modified, 634.7 BHP at the flywheel air cooled .. pictures to follow soon ..... and 4WD!

Looking good Talat!! Engine in yet? And I think you need some subtle spacers on those wheels....... IMNVHO of course!! PS thanx for referral to James!![;)]

Yup, engine in and now road registered :) Agree wrt to the spacers - also needs the correct tyre size on the rear.

Tyres should be 285x30x18 on the back and maybe run 25-30mm spacers, that should give you the factory set up Great car & the colour really suits her

Does it get much better than this for £65K? http://www.autokennel.com/AutoKennel/1973_Porsche_911_RSR_ST.html#0
