Thanks for the offer Steve i have sent you a PM...would you have any side pics of the car you could post do you know if there are many 44s going to this evening ? I think the only real way to make my mind up is to experience them back to back...that way i can decided which one i would be happy and then may be part with the cash....[]

not sure if the PMs are working? I will put a new post up in a mo to see if anyone else is going to Silvestone.
The only pic I have at the moment is below. It is not ideal as the rear wheel looks too far forward in the arch, due to the angle it is taken at, but hopefully it gives you an idea. I need to get the car out of the garage to fit new pads and ARB brackets tomorrow so if the weather is kind I will take a proper side-on pic and post it up.

Steve.
The pic of your car just re-enforces my reasons for the 944/968 series of cars to be lowered properly by indexing the T bars.
Sorry to say m8 but, your car does look high all round...
Ill try + dig out a pic of my S2 when it had the KW fitted. Just to show you folks how low it should be...
Picture now added...
Oh and the car IS for sale......

Yes unless you lower it to much and then the ball joint snaps when cornering hard (race track hard not on the run down to Tesco's)

I'd have to disagree because I do think that Steves car is still lower than the factory settings. My car was set to the exact factory height when I had the Konis rebuilt a few years ago and you can see below it looks much higher than Steve's.
I think there are so many 944's around now that have been lowered to some extent that we forget how they look a standard.

Just remembered I have the original sales brochure for my car and here's a scan that hopefully shows just how high these cars were from the factory. Obviously a dedicated track car with a KW setup whose primary useage is trackwork will benefit from substantial lowering (subject to the balljoints), but my own car is mainly road with the odd trackday when funds allow.

Steve - very welcome for pax laps. Registration is F###JNX. If you cant find me my mobile is 07867 557641 - call or text and I can tell you what number garage I am in. I am still running 944 M030 rollbars with Powerflex bushes. Top mounts are standard M030, but the intention is to change these over the winter, probably to Racers Edge.
Dave- I am certainly not disagreeing with you. The lower COG on yours will clearly be an improvement and it looks fantastic (the colour helps aswell - lovely car [8D]). I could not go any lower on the front of mine - the inner wings are already polished from the tyres rubbing when going over speed bumps etc. The rear is slightly lower than it was originally on M030. I may well have the TBs re-indexed at some point, especially if I do go ahead with changing the front mounts over the winter so as to only need one full alignment. The trouble is that it is very easy to spend an absolute fortune on suspension, which keeps draining the play budget which could otherwise be used on more power []
I guess my point is that although it is a bit of a compromise, it is possible to fit KW without re-indexing, thereby bringing it within a £2k budget. You still get the benefit of the adjustability and the clever high speed valve gizmo. Anyway enough waffling - I should be outside fitting pads 'n stuff (unfortunately I am suffering from an almighty hangover after my wife threw a surprise 40th party for me last night [])
See you on Tuesday Steve.

Heh heh, I quickly flipped the pic so that we could make a side by side comparison at roughly the same angle as SteveT's pic
Paul, a couple of questions if you dont mind ? how come you dont run KW, what springs do you have fitted and are you running MO30 ARBs, have you had the rear re-indexed ? I have to say it looks a little a high on the fron but the rear looks o.k...saying that the car looks nice and level though.
Cheers.

I would be by now if I hadn't had to spend so much in the bodyshop this year []. It will be a long time before I do it now. I'll be spending my money on track time before any more 'upgrades'
I'm currently on rebuilt M030 Konis and the 944 M030 ARB's and the height is set to factory spec. They are much harder than S2 and normal Turbo shocks but not sophisticated enough to give a nice ride on poor surfaces

Is there any difference between the 944 MO30 ARBs and the 968 CS ARBs ?
i have been looking at alot of web sites today and have noticed that a lot of american 944 race cars run the koni sport adjustables, are they realy all that bad ? what difference can i expect form my standard 944 s2 shocks ?

Yes, the 944 ARB's are 26.8mm front and 18mm rear, the 968 M030 ARB's are 30mm front and 19mm adjustable rear.
The Koni sport inserts are stiffer valved than standard struts, but I believe they are not as stiff as the M030 Konis (though not much in it and in fact it could be down to the stiffer M030 springs more than the insert)
