In the interests of the greater good, I've just called him. (The things I do for you guys! Being unemployed is a terrible curse ... you can all owe me a beer next time I get my fat ar5e along to a meet ... !)ORIGINAL: Suffolk944
I missed the bit about the alleged 3.0 litre engine - dont suppose someone with a fleabay account could send him a question about the engine and see what response they get back ?
Guy sounds friendly and well-spoken. Doesn't know much about engines. The work was done before he bought the car, and was done by a company (didn't ask who.) To quote him, "It's had an S2 engine fitted, which has been bored out to 3 litres."
"OK, thanks, tell me more. What do you mean by 'bored out'?"
"Ummm, well, I'm not quite sure. It's been overhauled, for sure. It got to 100,000 miles and was completely overhauled. And chipped."
So, without wanting to cast aspertions (he sounds like a nice chap), I would suspect it's the standard engine with a bit of a freshen-up. It shouldn't have needed work after 100,000 miles unless something was wrong, so what was done to it I don't know. I'd be fairly confident it's not an S2 lump.
He is putting some engine bay photos on eBay tomorrow tho', at my request, and sending me copies.

Sometimes I think we all forget and are too hasty to criticise for I do think whoever did it was 85% there but...........................horses for courses there are loads more worse than that car, even brand new modern boring cr*p pacific rim cars.

Unfortunately exhibit A is doing the shouting but isn't a racing car.
But there are loads of 944`with DPW, MBC`s, AFM`s mahoosive engines, mahoosive exhausts, roll hoops, roll cages, bigger brakes, bigger wheels, splitters etc etc etc and they dont race, they dont even see a track year on year.....................doesnt matter one jot if they like their car.
Like - the martini stripes
Dont - the wheels, chrome inside, the front end/lights

I think the lights are Strosek
they are definitely Strosek in design, but probably made by a company called Jaquemond, I think they still produce it along with the Strosek rear hatch(not my cup of tea)
The lights are supposed to be "projector headlights", apparently
I remember a feature years ago in 911& PW about a strosek gull wing 928.It had the same badge panel, I wanted that car!

...... still remember the excitement of youth and messing with cars......
Indeed. I took a jigsaw to the bonnet of my Mk I Capri because I thought it would help cooling. It might have done (although I now have my doubts) but it still makes me smile to think about it.....It did overheat less IIRC. [
The comments regarding the white car are very fair. I actually quite like the wheels so the only bit I am uncomfortable with it the badge panel. Stickers are of no consequence as they can be removed in minutes with a hot air gun.

Not my cup of tea but I respected his moddifying the engine as well as the body. A lot of people in that bracket are only interested in changing the way a car looks.

So he removed the flip lamps & it's running gear. He then fitted the new front panel, new light units & a roll cage. I'm not up on my weights but it must be close to the original weight again?
Oh silly me, he removed the back seat! Right then, I'm ripping mine out now & looking forward to knocking a whole second off my 0-60
All you turbo boys buying expensive chips,MAFs & wastegates eh?. All you had to was take the back seat out!
If I remove the front passenger seat, hello sub 4 seconds!
Still no engine pics....
DivineE is on the money.ORIGINAL: DivineE
Engine was built by EMC it is a lux with an s2 conversion if its the same car. I can't think there'd be two with his custom headlight conversion.
Underbonnet piccies here, courtesy of Ash this afternoon. Looks like a pukka S2, and if done by EMC then it's probably a decent job. Could make a half-decent car to buy ...
