I know I'm going on about this power to weight thingy but,
Can anyone clarify the weight difference between the pre & post 86 cars? I thought it was the engine & PAS. This car now has both.
Nice engine though.
Porsche's website gives early turbos at 1280kg, later ones '88 Turbo S onward at 1400kg - suggesting earlier cars were a lot lighter.

He e-mailed me as he wasn't sure he'd be welcomed with a modified car!
Welcomed? I want to write an article on it and display it!

Those seats look like 968 CS seats (they may be), it has 968 mirrors, it has 968 door handles, it allegedly has a new 3L engine (968??) and who is to say it hasnt, it has a turbo rear spoiler a bridge spoiler and they look like Strosek side skirts all nicely painted etc etc. The roll cage may be a lash up but somehow I bet it isnt for I get the feeling that more money than sense has one into this car if the descriptions are correct.
As I said before, this may be an ok car simply by looking at (list above) what its had done to it. Only someone who understands 944`s a bit would do what he`s done for they arent available on a standard 944 and I`m sure many 944 owners would like those enhancements but cant afford it or wont afford it. eg: a bespoke welded in roll cage is normally about £1200 - £1500 and I`m pretty sure they may well be clubsport seats.
If its had the money spent on it that I think it has (especially the engine) and a good paint/body job then I`ll wager that its spot on mechanically and is probably a good (track?) car bargain.
Mind you, theres a nice looking Turbo on the bay with a new engine and turbo and DPW etc for under 5 grand (I must stop looking [&o])

However what I do find interesting is that whatever your opinion on the car, look at the number of page views and the number of replies to this topic.
Very few topics raise such interest which in turn means so does this car
( positive and negative interest of course)
As a forum admin ( elsewhere), I can say that this topic is a forum admins dream [

That owner wasn't even trying, this is how to properly ruin a 944 (pic below for posterity)
Still the alloys look OK and at least the door mirrors are original [

Looks like a poxy Honda wannabee
I like the Gulf one but I guess I would. It's also got 'GT2' style wider guards. Be interesting to see some more pics of that car. Anyone got any?

I'm trying to get a 924 owner to join PCGB. He has spent 6 years restoring a basket case 924 into something quite amazing - it's white, Martini colours, painted underside you could eat your dinner off...

Come on Paul! Youre talking about chalk and cheese. Id welcome a twenty page picture-by-picture thread if he could manage it. Theres a massive difference between improved and spoiled...
