Track Days

Wow 35!!!! Would be rude not to try for 40 so come on those of you sitting on the fence, the day will be full soon

I would love to come but work is so all over the place right now I can't commit to the day off and booking it now. At the very least, if I'm free, I'll be joining Mike on the sidelines with my camera[:)]

I spoke to Colin @ Javelin about instruction The prices are £20 for 20 mins £35 for 40 mins (2 x 20 i think, I didn't ask) £50 for 1 hr (3 x 20?) I suggest that we get people signed up for this in advance - a. it means Colin can make sure he has enough instructor cover b. I hope you can grab the best timeslots Shall we do it on this thread or keep it separate? He also said he'd give us some more garages

Hi Ed, Thanks for sorting that out, I would suggest a separate thread might make it easier?? I will book, like an AM & a PM

I think all instructor booking will need to be done via Javelin direct, do it sooner rather than later to avoid disappointment. Edd

don't worry edd I will sort it. colin was quite happy with this approach. most people leave it until the day to book instructors so the theres no risk of missing out. I will start a separate thread. [link=http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/tm.asp?m=738331]Instruction Booking[/link]

Ok I misunderstood[:)]. Although I may contact Colin as I want to see if I can get my £40 I spent on garages refunded and used towards instruction. Edd

Whats peoples thoughts on eating somewhere close(ish) to the circuit after our track day? Good idea to debrief and digest? Or will we all be too knackered and just want to go home? Edd

Yes - didn't Paul Smith suggest somewhere? A pub just a couple of miles from the circuit I think

This one.... There is a pub a few miles away on the main A6 at Bletsoe called the Falcon http://www.thefalconatbletsoe.co.uk/ I've never been in there, but the car park always seems busy when I drive past. The website looks a bit upmarket but the prices on the menu seem reasonable with Mains between £10 and £16 _____________________________ Paul Smith - Northants 1990 944 S2 Panther Black

Yes I have a couple of places in mind, just trying to gather interest. The Falcon may be a bit small if the are up to 35+ of us, my current thinking is the Sharnbrook Hotel which has loads of parking space (which we will need) and a decent restaurant (with reasonable prices). Owner is a bit of a pertolhead and maybe more to suited to 30 blokes turning up in old cars wanting to be fed and watered. http://www.thesharnbrookhotel.com/menus.html listed on the MSV Bedford Autodrome Website. Edd

One with the car park would get my vote, dont want to spend time parking and then worrying about somewhere you left your car, want to spend time chatting!!!

I'm always up for a bit of nosh. Another thought - Is there anywhere appropriate to stay the night before as it is always good to be bright eyed and bushy tailed on the day in question.
