Viewing a 968 Club Sport this week.....

[attachment=127-2706_IMG.JPG] You'll enjoy your 968 I'm sure. Never mind the detractors! Looks great. Do track it as they go better after a good thrashing!

Those 18" TechArt wheels were offered as an accessory option on the 968 as I have a copy of the Porsche brochure. Plus there is a difference in a proper CS with no great big heavy sunroof with all the weight in the wrong place. It's the difference between a sharp knife and a surgeons scalpel.

Still the car I miss the most. I sometimes wander through this forum hoping to see it like some long lost love you know you should have held on to! It reappeared about 18 months after I sold it on PH at the price I sold it to 3 guys who were tracking it between them. I should have bought it back. Not because it would be worth more cash now just that there was a lot of me in that car! Blood, finger nails, skin off knuckles, sweat, cash, two trips to Le Mans, Paris......

Life and a bad spine move on. Plus a slightly more comfortable DB7 Vantage manual gearbox. The 968 would leave it for dead at the first set of corners!

No detractors here, though maybe you should check out the pics of Pete's car, with sunroof, though there's some opinion that replacing steel with a composite panel results in little weight penalty. I'd like to see the Porsche brochure with the 18" Techart wheel option though.

It's all the little bits that add up blade7. No sunroof, no strengthening in the roof, no motor, no cables, no window motors, no central lock motors, no electric mirrors, no bits and bobs associated with all the electrics. I had a black Sport - I'll find the reg number someone on here may have it - after the CS and not the same for me at all, but that's me. The problem was the CS got a bit more track than road and was hurting my old spine! It also had A/C, great on cool down laps to cool me as well. Although all that weight at the front for more under steer!

If someone tells me how not to put up two pictures of the same thing I'll scan the Porsche Accessories in later. Having looked at it again there is another 17" wheel called Antera which is wider than standard. Never noticed that.

Cheers,

Dave.

I think when the CS came out it was a great car for road and trackday use at a great price....

My 944 Turbo was a Beast running on 18's, so don't believe everything you read/hear about 18's making the handling rubbish [8|][;)]!!
