Looking for a late 944 s2 nothing over 100000 miles must have good service history and be up to date with cam belts etc would prefer coupe but would consider cab if top is in vg condition and have cover when down must be original or as near as possible guards red/gp white colour of choice i am not a dealer
Thanks Bob

Buy on condition and service history rather than mileage. 100k miles is nothing more than a phsycological barrier and serves only to rule out potentially excellent cars.

This one for example looks pretty good:(not mine and no association)

BTW, lots of late Alpine white cars seem to have Cobalt blue interiors so make sure you can stomach a sea of blue if you want a white one.

FFS! That's ÂŁ7K for a cat C, with no details of the damage, nor close-up pictures of the current condition.

Bob, I'd look to be a bit more open in your search? Why do you need belts up to date, for example, when a clutch or head gasket is arguably more of an issue? Belts are a service item, and you wouldn't reject a great 944 because it was due spark plugs!

The "must be under 100K miles" thing is also unusual. If I offered you the perfect car with 99K on it, by your own terms it'd be un-sellable after you'd got used to driving it!

Mileage is irrelevent unless you're laying a car up as an investment. If that's what you want a car for, things like belts being replaced are not an issue?

I understand what your saying the must be less than 100k comes from my ownership of 2 porsche carrera,s where the market is far better for sub 100k cars so its probably that reason i would be looking for a sub 100k car but not a deal breaker if its a bit more providing history is really good with invoices to back it up .Thanks for the reply Paul please let me know if you hear any one who may have the car i would like
Bob

What sort of money are you expecting to pay ? A S2 Cab went at auction for ÂŁ28 k it was not concours nor an enviable colour . You can have our concours Cab for ÂŁ 30 k its about half of the mileage that you want it under . Guards Red in English. No offers .

Thank you Bob for the kind feedback. It has been a pleasure dealing with you, my only remorse is that we did not get the chance to meet, however, we are delighted you are happy that the car is just as described.

For everyone else info - Bob got a wonderful 944S2 in almost concourse condition. A unusual car, allegedly there were only 8 LM5M Tuerkisblue cars and it really is a very pretty colour. It has a little aqua to it that the camera doesn't quite catch.

Many pictures on our website, highlights below..

It is a wonderful colour in the flesh, I love it. That is a lovely car, hope to see it at one of next year's events! [:)]

Beautiful car, certainly one of the nicest 944's, the condition has potential to win shows. I wonder why there were not more in that colour(?) because it really suits the model and as you say, it is even better in the flesh.

Factory spec was with a black rear badge and decal, I swapped them out for brand new OE silver items and I'm sure everyone will agree it looks amazing with silver. Then also to finish off the rear end there are the new plate mounts, plates and exhaust.. it's all in the fine details with a car at this level.

I'd rather see the black badge and decal on the rear: we're stuck with black-on-yellow numberplates and those colours are going to dominate the rear of a 944. To me the silver is lost on that colour.

I'm too picky, though. [&o]

I would whack in a new expansion tank, though. They really let an engine bay down when everything else is so good. My engine bay is the opposite: the rest of it makes the old expansion tank look good by comparison. [8|]

Are you referring to the fact that it had sill repairs when it had sill covers fitted at the time back in 2006?
