WANTED 944S2

Thanks for the good remarks it really is better in the flesh little time to drive it as yet still in storage facility having new tyres all round on monday nothing wrong with the ones on the car just dont like the make not sure about the sills one side has triangle the other has not been underneath only with the jack when i get it home on monday i will put it over my pit and have a good poke around but it looks pretty sharp below. The car was on sorn from 2008to2012 and only done approx 3000 miles since then .Iwork part time for a classic car dealership in the oxford area and its very difficult to find cars with original paint and i,m sure this little beauty is no different i have not checked out the paint depth as yet or poked my newly acquired endoscope down inside the door vent to see if anything sinister is stirring .This is probably the wrong forum but the 911 3.2 carrera pictured on the left was the car i sold to buy the 944s2 and is for sale pm if you fancy a change .If you know anything about the 944 please let me know
Thanks Bob

Bob, sorry I can't tell you anything more specific to your car than you have with its history and what you can check on https://www.check-mot.service.gov.uk/

Regards the colour, it is really nice, I've seen two in the metal, one I looked at buying back in 2004 at Northway, Reading but it had 137K on the clock and had a terrible waft spray over. IIRC that was G801AUD. There were at least 11 U.K registered that I know of, but it appears there's only 4 with current MOTs so it is super rare.

I understand it was 90-91 S.2 only, and all cars were linen leather with blue piping. If you want to check them out, the other reg no's are .....

G538WFG
H4CHR
G423PWT

Apparently it was a VW Audi colour, but I haven't looked into what model/years it applied to. How it migrated onto a limited number of 944's I have no idea. Was it available on the 928?

I love the way people try and tip toe around things on this site and play innocent instead of just admitting they ran the reg number through the MOT check as soon as pictures were posted, if you've got something to say then say it.

Or why doesn't everyone post their reg numbers and we can check everyone's MOT history ?

I hadn't run the reg number until you posted this. Though I do wonder why the seller has traded under 4 different company names is it ? in the last few years. There, I said it.

I don't have a problem with that - I'm not concerned my car could be cloned as a result + what blade7 said.

Richard....... G308GJT

Thank you for your concerns.. my father retired a few years ago so we changed the company name, that same company still trades selling non-porsche, current company is a trading name dealing only in porsche. Then there are the couple of company names my brother traded under over last decade before joining forces with me...all with the same photo background. Simple as that.

I don't get it.. this is an enthusiasts forum.. we show you guys some pictures of probably one of the nicest 944S2's you are likely to see and all you can do is look for holes and faults..

A touch green I think. Let the man enjoy his car.

First outing weather permitting will be Bicester Heritage 7th Sunday Scramble 3rd January might see you there food was really good last time.I am sorry that my car has caused a bit of handbags i do feel sorry that Mark had to come on here and justify himself for having different business names a pretty small remark i think, but not confined just to this forum

Love the colour of this car (I've never seen one that colour in the metal before) and I hope the new owner is happy with his purchase.

Plenty of cars (not just Porsches and 944's) have had MOT issues, but so long as they are repaired properly then all should be good. If the same faults occur year after year then I would question whether the owner at that time was an enthusiast or was possibly struggling financially to run and maintain his car?

Good luck with your new purchase and I hope to see it sometime in 2016 [:)]

My new favourite colour for a 944 - Really suits the car.... Well wear !!

I loved Cobalt Blue but that colour is really savage... !!

I'm not sure it points to an owner not being able/willing to repair something that it crops up repeatedly as an advisory. Many older cars do minimal mileage, and an advisory might well crop up many years in a row before it actually needs attention.
Even if a vehicle's in regular use, garages can be over-enthusiastic with advisories as well. My van was bought with a slightly noisy wheel bearing, and it's been advised at MOTs for 7 years. They were confident it didn't need changing until it got significantly worse, which it has this year, so will be done at the service. That's around 80K miles later, so I'm glad they told me to wait! An advisory can well be more something to monitor, rather than "it's scraped through".

The mot was not due until july16 but had it renewed yesterday had a good poke around while it was up on the lift passed mot with no advisories (thanks Mark) but to give myself piece of mind will have the cambelts done although they were done according to the service book in 2012 so please recommend someone close to me in Thame Bucks/oxford/berks did see a company called Promax do the work but let me know of your experiences based on service rather than price Bob

Promax are good. Not cheap but can be trusted with 944's.
Northway are another option - might be closer to you?
Either would be just fine.

Plus one for Promax, not heard any recent reports from Northway so can't comment if they are still interested in the older cars. Also have a look at Hillcrest in Henley or Ninex in Maidenhead.

I've been using Chelsea Carrera in Wycombe the last couple of years. Much more economical and know the cars well, but absolutely no frills: just a couple of blokes in a scruffy lockup with some dodgy callendars! Exactly what RPM had when they were reliable, and I do like standing in the workshop talking to the mechanic/owner, rather than in a fancy reception talking to a pretty 21 year old trainee receptionist. [8|]

I know Ron Smith used Hillcrest for the Boxster I bought from him. His S2 would make a nice pair with yours

Another +1 for Promax. I used to use RPM as well until their focus moved more 'up market'
Also handy for me, Promax offer a free courtesy car and the fact that the guy that worked on my car had an S.2 as his daily driver. Probably about the same distance from you as it is for me.
