Warranty renewal - Rev range 4

In 2012 my 997TTgen1 (manual) had 27 ignitions at range 3 and a mere 3 ignitions at range 4 resulting in the requirement for compression and cylinder leakage tests by the OPC before Porsche Cars GB would renew the extended warranty. No problems before or since in almost ten years of ownership from new.

Your report shows range 4 at circa 224 hours of engine use, with current hours use of 1366. So the major overruns occurred early on the the engine's life. Are you buying/have you bought from an OPC? Does the car have extended warranty? I'm assuming if it does they will have already done the compression and cylinder leakage tests and all was okay.

I have brought the car and have tried to get a warranty on it and Porsche have said I need to pay £750 to get it tested for the warranty

I had to pay for the tests doing, but don't recall paying that much. However I have been a customer of the OPC for years so may have got some price deal. It isn't a simple test so maybe £750 is reasonable at OPC hourly rates?

I have paid £216 for the 111 check so I can get the warranty but I have to pay for the engine test or they will not give me the warranty but it also has a warranty wise on it so I could yours that if it goes wrong.

UPDATE

i have taken my car in to Guildford Porsche for the 111 point check to find out that they will not put a warranty on the car because it has a problem with a print out on the range, so they wanted me to pay £750 to do a compression test on it to make sure that no damage has not been done, so i rang the dealer that i got the car from for them to say that they will get it sent to Brooklands Porsche.

Just had a call from Brooklands to say that it is not needed because they have found out that it has been done, after they done some homework on the Porsche computer system and was done after the reading was done.

So i think i will not be going back to Guildford Porsche because they clearly want to con me out of money
