I've been chasing down a couple of coolant leaks and a hot running issue. Pulled the thermostat and it was rated at 88 degrees, tried it in some boiling water and it was just opening - probably explains why my car has been running at just over the second white mark before coming back down. Pick up my new stat tomorrow. One leak was from the auxiliary water pump that feeds the turbo, removed it:
stripped it down and reseated the o-ring along with some gasket sealant, fingers crossed! Second leak is from the fan switch/top coolant hose. Have refitted the top hose as it was a little loose and also removed the fan switch too - will Teflon tape it and add a smear of gasket sealant just to be sure. Also found out that my half cage will arrive on Thursday so fun and games to come fitting that!!!

In all honesty I'm not 100% sure, it's the one from Bennyboy's/Dunner's car. I believe that it is bolt in, whether that mean bolted into the mounting points or bolted into feet that need welding in ill find out soon enough. I needed a better way of guiding the harness shoulder straps through the seats and this came along at the right time. Even if it just bolts into the mounting points it will be more secure than the Brey Krause harness bar I've seen.
17" Cup1's off, 16" D90's back on, think I prefer the look of the original wheels on the car ...

I put one in that location on my turbo - I'll try and find some picsORIGINAL: TTM I looked how I could mount the extra oil radiator I just got. On the inner side the AC condenser bracket that's been left vacant since the condenser was removed seems to be a good mounting point somehow, but on the outer side I'm not sure...?

There is a thread on here somewhere - will be a few years ago though. I fitted mine in series with the factory cooler on the other side. I took out one of the horns and relocated the other to make more space.ORIGINAL: Eldavo That would be great if you could Ed, as I've been looking at doing the same. TTM - pictures and a write up/how to please

I just found that about 30s before you posted it - lol. Got my new thermostat today - rated at 83 degrees and actually opens at that too so hopefully the car will run a fair bit cooler now. Cage arrives tomorrow and I believe I'll need some mounting plates welding in so will get my bodywork guy to do that for me. Also got my quote back for carpeting the rear squab, £130 fitted so told him to get the carpet ordered and that's another job ticked off the list a damn site cheaper and lighter than a D9 rear seat delete.

Thanks Paul - although I wish I'd looked here before I looked for it myself this morning.. [] I remember using different size cardboard boxes to try and test out the location. I ended up installing the cooler that way round so that the batwing would still fit - I just made a couple of L shaped brackets at the top to mount it. Also see my note in the thread about connectors - M26 at the Porsche oil line / cooler end. Connectors at the cooler end need a bit of thought - you can see I used a 45deg and a 90 deg one so that it sat properly. I think my hoses could have been a bit bigger also. Another good thing about my S2 is i don't have an oil temp gauge so I don't worry about oil temps...ORIGINAL: Diver944and here it is ..... http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/tm.asp?m=422452&mpage=1&key=cooler񧈴 all part of the service guv []ORIGINAL: edh There is a thread on here somewhere - will be a few years ago though.

Just returned from our post winter shake-down run. Just under 900 miles in 3 days. Up to Penrith via Patterdale. Roof of England Challenge, 127 miles classic run through the North pennines and Dales, back to Patterdale and then home to North Suffolk. Car went fine and averaged just over 30 mpg as well. Still lots of snow left up there especially over Buttertubs, but a superb week end away and car seems fine for this weekends trip to Cologne, Essen (Techno Classica) and then the Ring for a few laps. Just hope the weathers nice.

Managed to extricate the wiring harness for the Sony stereo from that of the rest of the car. Ive swapped radios before but never tackled the ISO-Sony connector which had other loom wires running through it! I had to cut the two Sony loom wires to remove it, so I amused myself soldering the repair, which is often advised buy seldom actually done! Swapped over Momo wheels but I cant make my mind up. 320mm Race with a red anodised centre - too small and a bit cheesy (but off centre so lots of leg room). 370mm Prototipo - too large and less legroom than standard. Momo Monte Carlo, red leather with black anodised centre - would be perfect but its red leather!
