What did you do with your 996 today?

Hows comes you haven't joined the club yet. we have some great days out
I was a member last year and years ago, it just ran out and not got round to joining again, I will.

What fun on the way home today via some snowy A roads through Mortimer, Berkshire! 996 Carrera 4 good as it gets...

Got home early while the cars in the air I removed arch liners and re under sealed them. All the engine is disconnected know ready to drop engine and tip box in one unit. Purchased the Ims solution and new rms I'm really enjoying it. These cars are designed so well I must admit so far it's been relatively easy.

The new Ims is in. The engines back in the car just fitted every under side. Just to fit exhaust etc rear bumper. Put some blood in her and see if she goes forward

This picture was taken two weeks ago on Sunday morning on a run out in Yorkshire for the Geeks Car Club (GCC). The weather wasn't ideal but we had a great time an a lovely breakfast and a great blast in the car. My C4S was joined by a Audi RS6 and a Mercedes C63s. They are both quick cars but the Porsche did well in such great company.

Removed both manifolds from my 996 Turbo with no snapped bolts. Pleased is an understatement! Just need a new gasket and then I can fit the other new manifold. Tax next week and back on the road :)

Well pleased with my self. I've fitted the Ims solution on my 2003 c4s the car was a pleasure to work on seeing as I'm a builder for a living. The design is absolutely brilliant the way it all unplugs and drops down. I have loads of pics and vids I can share if any body is changing any parts. Need a format though because it won't let me saying URL problem. If you need any pics etc message me and I can forward on

Fitted the other manifold. Gaskets are leaking slightly and as I am something of a perfectionist at times, I've just ordered a pair of new ones. Also not happy one or two bolts feel a bit loose so it'll be a Helicoil job when it all comes apart again. In addition, I have ordered some new stainless steel braided brake hoses.

Washing the car a few days ago I noticed that one of the twin oval chromed tail pipe tips moved a little. Closer inspection showed that the clamp had almost rusted through. A quick trip to my local garage sorted it out with a new clamp (the other had been done a year ago at which time the other had been passed as okay). The old one that came off had almost completely gone and probably hitting one of the numerous potholes around here would have seen the tip come off completely.

So with a lot of our cars having seen a good few years and miles, the moral is to check your tips! Not only would it be dangerous for any car behind if it came off, they are surprisingly expensive to replace.

New brake discs and pads on all 4 corners plus a Dansk sports exhaust fitted... Thanks to the great team at Northway Porsche. Sounded great tootling home through Mortimer and Beech Hill. Not so great for the fuel economy as I didn't shift up as much as I would have done normally [:D]

Hi all,

Took a drive over to North Weald on Sunday and took the attached photo in front of their Dakota.

Regards

Gerry

Bicester Heritage Scramble Sunday 23 April. Excellent day out and must have been around 200 Porsches there plus many other classic and performance cars . Bicester Heritage [link=http://bicesterheritage.co.uk/]http://bicesterheritage.co.uk/[/link] is worth the visit if you have the opportunity.

Hi Steve,

That looks like a successful event.

I was at Silverstone last week with my son.

We had a great time and the club spoilt us rotten.

Pity about the result!

All the best

Gerry

Had Tiptronic filter and fluid service carried out by Cotswold Porsche after covering 73,000miles in my 2001 C4.....what a difference!!! finally got rid of the terrible grinding noise in 3rd, 4th, 5th at 15-1700rpm that's been annoying me since I've had the car from June last year. The cars is finally sorted and drives as it should. [;)]

Sold the Speed Yellow (going to miss it) but bought a C4S cabriolet instead so we have the best of both worlds, roof off and a 996!!! Still got the Boxster though.

Beautiful 1 owner with full OPC history so we'll see.

First outing marshalling for the Cotswold Rally which was a great event.[:)]
