Andrew, its getting there! Where did you buy the brake ducts, quality good and how much are they? looking for some.

Hi Norm - the ducts were on the car when i bought it and not sure there is a receipt for them in the file. I was thinking to upgrade them but Dave said once sprayed and with the bumper behond black it will look good. Before they were just black plastic (as delivered) stuck on with duck tape. I did investigate this as a regular ph'er just built a nice RS spec car and his ducts look really legit. You can see his car @ [link=http://www.cagedcar.com/]http://www.cagedcar.com/[/link]. he mentioned FVD and another company in the states provide good ducts. If i was guessing I think mine are from type911 [link=http://www.type911shop.co.uk/shop/article_2546/964-Brake-Cooling-Ducts.html?shop_param=cid%3D1%26aid%3D2546%26]http://www.type911shop.co.uk/shop/article_2546/964-Brake-Cooling-Ducts.html?shop_param=cid%3D1%26aid%3D2546%26[/link]

so the car is now painted & polished. Alot of the refit has been done as well. All that's left is bolt the bonnet back on, front bumper has been built up and ready to go back on & the glass, wipers, bonnet seal & Carrera badge. Car should be ready on Wed so pick up aiming for Sat morning. Labour ended up in the 70+hrs but Dave capped it at 65hrs total. Some more pics. I will post the finished product later this week.

Are you going to fit some type of paint shield as the stones will soon be at the lovely new bonnet ? Looking very nice I must say. Ian

Ian - saw your other post re: u spent a bit more to get a nice corrosion free car! good call ;). Mine isnt too bad to be fair but still [:(] Mate - I was thinking about painthshield.....umm and ahhing......for what it costs...could get the front blown in again in a few years.....hmmmm. I do hate stone chips though!

So...the car is finally done. Looks great. I have booked it in with paintshield late next week for a full front cover to keep the paint in this state

Yes I agree with you Steve, but initially I thought it was a part hybrid conversion & those wires were for the mains recharging socket!

Hi All, Just an update to say I got the car back last Friday. Just under 8 weeks to get all the work done. It was a loonnggg 8 weeks! [;)] Car has now had the bodywork complete (front end respray and corrosion issues sorted), paintshield (front end), KWV3's (set to fast road and RS ride height and geo, replaced top mounts etc etc) and I ended up going to 964 RS front brakes (probably overkill but it felt right!! [;)][:D]) RPM also found uneven spacers on the front wheels which they removed...this has cured the nasty guard rubbing I was getting when driving on uneven road surfaces. Anyway - Am thinking of what to do for Phase 2 - 4 pot rear brake upgrade could be on the cards and more minor stuff like a service etc. I will keep you posted. Aim now is to just get out and drive it and enjoy!.... Some pics from Sat

Good to hear it's back. Take it easy with that new brake set up you've got. I think you will now have huge front bias and the rear could get very squirmy under heavy braking. I would get the rears and proportioning valve upgraded as soon as you can.
