Winter projects begin

Lucky, lucky man. I'm going to have to continue to use mine for the summer, ignore the sore bits then book in with Daytona near the end of the year... Phase II? Turbo sway (anti-roll) bar at the front? Live engine re-map? I guess you get to a point exponentially where more money gives a shorter difference - if you know what I mean. Thrash it for the summer and see if you still want more done! Marcus

Marcus - have to admit if there wasnt corrosion to sort i would have left the car as is.....ie: slightly imperfect as to me...there is some upside in not feeling too precious about the car and just using it for what it was intended...ie: driving fast ;).....so just enjoy the fact that you can do that I reckon and not worry too much about the stone chips and where u park it etc. Agree - I will be doing exactly that and focusing on mainly sorting anything that needs doing mechanically etc which I hope isnt too much for the short term. A live engine remap would be nice actually. I didnt have that on my list..... [;)]

With you there Andrew. Complete opposite of a friend's uncle who has his Testarossa trucked in to Graypaul for an annual service even though it has been driven for zero miles that year! Up to Nottingham early doors Friday and have arranged to pop in to Daytona early morning for a chat and poke around - apparently a 993 Turbo there now for some body work and offered a nose around that. Good thing is I have 6 months to save up for and acquire seals, rubbers, trim etc for completion...

So just an update to this thread...... Car is back with Dave @ Daytona for some small pieces of work - respray rear bumper - take care of small corrosion spot near drivers seat (minor and was on the phase 1 remediation plan but Dave accidentally missed it) - refurb of rear tail lights left and right as well as the centre rear reflector - which won't look right if not brought up to scratch. Dave thinks he can make them "as new" and given the prices for new items am quite excited to see how they turn out Pics to follow and should only take 2 weeks to complete so nice Christmas present ;)

Strangely enough just on the phone to Dave yesterday. I need to recover a bonnet lid plus a bunch of other bits and new parts that either came off the grey 964 or were to go on. Definitely interested in how he thinks he can make the rear reflectors/light look new again...

Yeah I think he is still emotionally scarred from the loss of your car so soon after all the work he did. He made a face similar to this when the topic came up [] [&o]............ ;) He was pretty impressed at how the paintshield had protected the paint. Yeah me too! [:)]

LoL - I do feel guilty though that I've gone and messed up all his and Gordon's nine months of effort... I haven't told the paintsheild guy yet - I should tell him it wasn't tough enough [:D] Minor corrections needed on the new one and some point after Christmas I might pop it in to Dave's for an estimate.

Hi there please post pics of your rear lights when they are done! This sounds AWSOME ..!
