A friend of mine (owns '72,75,'78 911's & '71 914) called and told me he have some NOS Porsche parts. He asked if i want to come over to see if there is something i might be interested in. We went to a place where these parts have been since 1997. When we studied parts more closely we noticed that they were imported by two different Porsche exporters. One of these imported Porsche to Finland between 1985-89 and the another 1991-95. Both of these companies went into bankruptcy. Lots of different 911, 924, 928 & 944 stuff. Also most of the factory 911,912,928,944 & 968 manuals. Nice find, i will get new carpets which happens to be similar i have in my 951. Also got some engine parts like complete automatic timing belt tensioner. Heading to the garage where parts are located. Friend's summer time daily drive, a 1973 beetle cabriolet. Which he is going to restore next winter.

Most of these parts belongs to my friend. I don't need a cooler since my '88 951 does not have a one. Cooler in the picture is a "brand new", some of these parts have stickers indicating them arrived to warehouse back in 1988. I just get new carpets, new complete timing belt tensioner and manuals.

Today i worked with Cabrio project. I am putting interior back together. Today i washed and repaired trunk area carpets. Carpets dried very quick, since it was 30C [;)] I suppose this sight is quite common issue to all 944 owners

That won't do, so i deceided to fix it. I didn't have factory style fabric available, so i decided to go Porsche Tequipment department route and use different color and material. I had some left over Burgundy leather available, so i used it.

I sewed it by hand using sail maker's needles. It turned out quite OK. Took me around 45 minutes. Of course it is much faster by sewing machine, but wife's machine cannot handle leather. I also sew better by hand [:D] Ready piece, just have to cut to fit.

Since cabrio is also black, Burgund should look nice. If the owner of this cabrio does not like it, i can easily dye leather black. I also managed to find factory style fabric later this afternoon, so if necessary, i can go back to oem style.
