They're expensive enough as they are at the moment, so I wonder what the premium's going to be for these?

It's going to make buying a used car interesting if the first owner ticked this option. I assume the inserts can be changed but replacements will have to factor in to the trade-in and/or purchase cost.

That's right Dave, but I suppose every manufacturer is looking for something different to offer (and fleece!) the punters ... PCCB's and switchable shouty exhausts being typical examples.!
I'm with you and Peter on the exhaust issue. I think they've run their course, especially with EVs beginning to make their mark on the motorist's psyche. Also they're less important in a coupé where intake and mechanical noise tend to dominate, unless you want to drive around with the windows open.
