Steve,

Have you got my name down? I'll be there!!!!

Cheers,

Mark.

Yes....you're on the list in the first post [;)]

I'll be e-mailing folks soon about paying up to reserve their place.

Hi Steve,
I was at Curborough yesterday, R8 were there and it was a nice day free from rain.
However the sound man was there and his level was 100db which isn't high. There was one car with external mufflers, which were removed once he'd gone. Just a warning that last year's sound levels might not be the current ones.

David.

Thanks David, I've always found the noise tester (Steve) to be an easy going sort of chap. As long as the noise isn't at silly levels he lets people on. 964s with up to one bypass (cat, primary or final) should be just under 100 db. However, I will certainly follow up your findings and check to see if there has been any change since last year.

Steve I am probably being over pressious but I am considering removing my perfect cup wheels with relatively new Conti's and changing them for the originals wheels and tyes that came with the car.The originals being 16 inch with Avons fitted, just incase of any miss haps and I might have a bit more fun..What do you think? These wheels and tyres have been stored in my garage for two years, lying on there sides and kept in the shade.

Hi Keith, tyres won't take a hammering at Curborough. Just a few laps round the track won't stress them like 20 minutes on a normal trackday. Your stored wheels should be fine too - I keep my track wheels stored in a similar way. Just drive for a few miles after fitting them to satisfy yourself that they are still OK. The choice is yours - you'll have fun whichever ones you decide to put on the car for the day. [:)]

Hi Steve

Think I may have a drive down just to meet up with other 964 owners.

Can I just turn up on the day as I will not be taking my car on the track.

Regards Lee

Absolutely Lee. It's more of a meet with a track side show. All are welcome to come along to watch and chat. The cafe caravan should be open for refreshments and you can even catch a passenger ride or two round the track with a fellow 964 owner if you fancy.

I've received quite a few payments now and have updated the list on the first page. For those who have yet to send their payment in, please remember that it needs to be with me by the end of this month to confirm your place. [:)]

Is there an instructor coming this year?

PS My payment will be on the way to you in a week or so...

Since we all got on so well last year I haven't done anything about including an instructor this time. Hence why the price is lower than last year. I won't be driving myself this year so if anyone wants some moral support from their passenger seat I will be happy to oblige.

For info......

Had my car noise tested at Castle Combe last week when I popped in for a spectate at the PCGB trackday.

It's completely standard on both inlet and exhaust sides -

97.something @ 4500
102.something @ 5000

I know from my rally car that the readings vary quite dramatically between events/venues so these can't be taken as gospel.
