964 day at Curborough is on again!

I'm sure Ian and John are only coming along to get some practice in for next year [;)]

Curborough could be a nice and inexpensive round on the Speed Championship calender [:)]

Well done on your recent acheivement.

I'd love to give it a go, but I simply couldn't commit myself to that sort of expense at the moment.

Perhaps in a few years or so...

Not long to go to this now. I should be arriving at around 10.30 am to open the gate.

I'm still waiting final confirmation that the on-site cafe will be open. Assuming it is, please make it worthwhile their while by buying refreshments.

...and remember, even if you're not booked on track you're welcome to come along and watch [:)]

Steve,

saw your post on the R8 site. Are there any places left & would you consider a 996 to make things more varied ?

Hi Paul, it's full at the moment but if you come along on the day and some one doesn't make it there (for whatever reason), you can take their place. How does that sound?

Steve,

thanks for the quick response & offer.
I'll probably give it a miss this time as I know that "er indoors" has some chores I should be doing if I can't justify being away to take part (She views spectating as a "waste" of my time - but taking part as borderline acceptable !)

Thanks anyway - hope everyone enjoys a good day.
I was fortunate enough to have a "play" around Curborough during August with 3 Shires car Club & R8 - so I'll have to wait longer for another "fix" !

Steve,
Are we "Northerners" going to meet at J 15 as last year for a convoy run down to Curborough?-if? so what time

Hi Colin,

I'm not intending to convoy myself because I need to get down earlier than the rest of you and do a detour to collect the keys to open the course gates. Curborough is all a bit DIY as you probably remember [:D]

Anyone going up from 'darn sarf' fancy a convoy drive?

I'll be travelling up the M40 if anyone wants to meet up somewhere to convoy up.

Possible meet at J3 (Beaconsfield) or J4 (High Wycombe).

Yesterday, I e-mailed everyone details of the final arrangements. These are:

We have 17 cars booked on the day so there should be plenty of track time for everyone.

11 am: Arrive at the circuit and track drivers sign on (the gate to the circuit will be locked until this time so it's not worth arriving too early).
11.30 am: Briefing about the day including safety aspects.
12.00 pm: Track driving begins so form an orderly queue.
4.30 pm (ish): Track driving ends.

Helmets are not required although they are optional and, perhaps, recommended. We also recommend that you take time to remove loose objects from the car before going on track. You won't use a lot of petrol on the day but we recommend you arrive with at least half a tank.

We are still hoping that the tea and coffee cabin (on site) will be open for refreshments (but bring some butties just in case).

Sifly can't make it which is a shame because he's the only turbo that had booked on [&o]. If anyone wants his place let me know. [:)]

I've found this info from last years thread:

For sat nav programming

North 52 degrees 42' 43"

West 1 degree 48' 10"

Possible post codes:

There appear to be only 2 post codes covering the whole of Curborough so you won't go far wrong with either. They are WS13 8EW and WS13 8ET

I thing that WS13 8NF is the eatery just before the track - not difficult to find as long as you don't miss the turning off the A38!!!!

If anyone's reading this at the last minute, I've still got a couple of spaces available due to last minute cancellations. Just see me on the day......

ORIGINAL: Steve Brookes

At the moment the forecast is for rain to clear away by the morning....see you tomorrow chaps [:)]

Can I bring the Mondeo if its raining?

It goes round corners...[&:]

Great little compilation vid Gaz.....shame you didn't catch any of the spins [:D]

Yes it was an excellent day out. Even with the on/off rain nobody's spirits got dampened and I was very impressed with some of the driving commitment. Thanks to everyone for the on-track entertainment you provided [:)]

Shame a few couldn't make it they missed a great day.
