Will you be providing a free fitting service Jamie? 13 mm spanners if I recall?[]
I'll certainly have some spanners with me if anyone needs them, but I don't plan on getting my hands dirty personally
The bung is a push fit, so no spanners required .........

If I'm wrong I'm sure Will or Jamie will clarify. [&:]

This is the insert, together with the additional adjustable cap (for extra extra silencing), and the removal tool
This shows the adjustable cap fitted (you can see the screw can go through any of the holes in the mesh to give more or less silencing)
This shows the bung inserted into the tip - don't worry it doesn't stick out like that, it fits flush. This just shows how it inserts.
Hope that helps !!

Like most I haven't seen it in the flesh but as I understand it the last picture is the tail piece with the temporary static noise bung fitted. This bung simply pushes into the tail pipe which contains the drive-by silencer shown below.

Correct, this is the core of the original noise reducing tip - the additional static bung is a push fit into this as shown in the previous post.

What is the ordering procedure?
The tips are £245 cash in hand or £255 delivered by post. I will have 2 with me on Sunday at Donny.
The bung hasn't been priced yet, it will depend on the demand, but as a guide they will be no more than £150. I will have the working prototype on Sunday and will get it noise tested - so assuming it works as planned (every indication from previous versions that it will), I will take orders on Sunday - alternatively email Will directly through his profile on Pistonheads (equally if you want to order a tip). There will be one or two bits of tidying up required to the prototype, but thereafter they should be available pretty quickly.

I'm aiming for about 8.30, otherwise it's an ungodly early start for me ! Without wishing to sound cheeky, if you get there early enough to bag a garage is there any chance I can share with you ? (I owe you lunch anyway !!!)

I was at Goodwood today on a corporate freebie, so took the opportunity to get them to measure the noise output of the new insert. I did a base reading with just the ordinary noise reducing tip which showed 105db at 4850rpm (no surprise - that's the normal reading for my car with decat and cup pipe). I then tried the insert with the additional cap on (almost full restriction), which was reading comfortably under 100db at the same revs - exactly as we hoped. With the additional cap removed it read 100db. I will test it again at Donny to get another comparison. The prototype does need a little modification to hold it safely in the tip - we have an idea how to do it, but anyone is welcome to have a look and come up with a suggestion. Long and short of it is that it seems that the insert does work as we hoped it would !

I will try my best to save a garage Jamie...like the proverbial German with the sunbeds.[]
