Wow !! nearly on page 1000 who will make it happen ..think it would only be fitting for our founder Spyder Man Robert (daro911) to fill in the last pages .
Brian I think some rare Resale Racing RED Spyders to close this 999th page would be fitting [8D]

Nice work Rob.[;)]

Thanks for your support for the Boxsters.

1000 Pages to date wouldn't have been possible without all the Spyder owners and enthusiasts chipping in across the 3 generations to date [;)]

Thank you and Tracey for all your excellent work for our corner of the Porsche World and hopefully 2021 will be a big improvement over this current year from hell []

Some memories from happier times [8D]

Fantastic work Rob, and all you Spyder lovers !!

Always good to catch the latest goings on, on this now randomly named thread........

I think PCGB should be sending you a nice carriage clock in the post Rob :)

I was wondering if any one had swapped the standard webbing interior door latches for conventional ones on their Spyders, my 718 Spyder is due to be built in January and was thinking of ordering the standard interior door latches and fitting them. It seems odd that the GT3 has conventional interior door latches but the GT4 and Spyder have the webbing ones of the GT3 RS. Am I mad for even considering it? The standard 718 ones are great, the webbing ones are fiddly and don’t operate as well. It could just be I just don’t have the knack yet.

I have never been keen on these straps. IMHO they cheapen the look.

I can't repeat what my wife said when saw these on one car in the PC showroom. Needless to say she walked away and that was the end of my interest in that particular car!

I have these silly straps on the seats of my 992 and would much prefer it if they had the 'proper' handles.

Each to their own I guess.

But I would go for the 'real' handles.

I entirely agree. But then I’d also happily accept the weight increase for the convenience of an electric roof.

Looks like a scalectric!

Not sure about this recent fashion for applying race numbers to road cars (seems to be prevelant on the Porsche special editions now) - can understand it in the ”old” days when cars were driven to the event but feels like you’re trying too hard to me.

On the door pulls - push with right elbow on the door, pull with left hand works for me. Never thought it needed changing but doubt it saves any weight - more marketing film flam from Porsche :)

What are folks thoughts on this .

copied from the speedster?

I like it, but you probably knew I would say that. :)

In 2010 987 Spyder era I liked the painted interior bits but now 10 years on and 2 generations on it all looks very "yesterday" to my eyes and you would have thought by now Porsche interior designers could have come up with a more modern look than this as the standard finish [:'(]

Was never a fan of the coloured centre panel on the 981 although I did like the dash colour co ordinated along with the door pulls and seat belts and stitching on seats .. On the 987 in my case the centre tunnel and dash trim where colour co ordinated along with door pulls and seat belts the door cards where all plain ,I also have the dials matching ,looks good in Resale Red

Looks like the 718 Spyder bubble may have burst

I think there is a perfect storm, of Brexit, COVID, release of Boxster GTS 4.0, release of PDK Spyder, manual roof, build slot availability and the time of year. I think the so called very high resale spec doesn’t necessarily appeal to that many people looking to buy to use and enjoy.
