Looks like the 718 Spyder bubble may have burst

Seem to be a lot of black 718 Spyders and GT4s for sale? Some of these are priced pretty optimistically I think all things considered.

One of only two...

It is a strange world where not having a radio and AC makes a car more valuable! Many of the ultra low mileage S1 Elises are advertised as being on original tyres, so the ones on this have a few years life in them yet - I suppose the target ownership has no interest in actually using the car which seems a shame.

I remember how lethal the original Pirelli's were on an S1 Elise with a bit of rain, would hate to think how much of a death trap they would be now with 10 years of aging rubber !!!!

Definitely a high price, if the car was in the sub 5k mile category then I could see it potentially achieving very close to that price as it would appeal to the collectors even more (IMHO). However best of luck to the seller as it is pretty unique in its spec and the fact they are so little UK car's in this spec does mean that its probably the purest of Spyders and another won't be around for a long time.

Finally Porsche admits the gearing is too lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng

https://www.carscoops.com/2020/05/porsche-admits-the-cayman-gt4s-gearing-is-too-long/

The PDK will not only offer shorter gear ratios than the manual but it promises to broaden the appeal of the two sports cars and drive up sales.

Still wont be able to get an allocation though :(

This 80 year old has some great taste when it comes to Porsches and especially Spyders [8D]

I think that is a 718 Spyder- definitely the keys to go to[:D]
If you read the article, he says it’s the 981 he drives the most........

Maybe the 718 is for the museum :ROFLMAO:

Bit harsh on the 718. All it needs is a valve controller to open up the sound.

It needs a lot more than just a valve controller The 718 PSE has very little tone or volume to it compared to the 981

Porsche rate it at circa 68 decibels v the 981 which was 90+

Fast forward this video to 4m 20secs and he agrees :ROFLMAO: and for the tunnel test 7m 03 secs pure music

Naa. Sharkwerks say that the valve controller is enough. I've been using the valve controller for nearly 2 months now and it's much louder. Okay, there's not so many pops, but it alleviates the poor sound IMO.

I own both 981 Spyder and 718 GT4.

I own both 981 Spyder and 718 GT4.

I also owned both for 5 months, but the GT4 went on the day before the first lockdown.....

both fantastic cars, but on the road it’s the Spyder that makes me smile more.
