That is a high asking price considering the mileage and the fact that it has sports seats.

I went to look at the car as it is sitting under cover outside the Porsche centre and its closed due to our lockdown. It looks great but I agree with you that the seats are not what I would want in a Spyder and the mileage is certainly one of the highest I have seen on an offered car recently.

Evening guys - i Am considering selling my Immaculate 2010 PDK Spyder After 5 years of ownership if anyone is in the market. Options include Sport Chrono, carbon buckets, Spyder wheels, sound plus stereo package, PSE, Alcantara wheel, carbon trim parts and mirror triangles. Numberboards obviously removable if desired. please mail me on porsche987spyder@gmail.com if interested. Hope the link works for the pic as it wouldn’t let me attach a photo ! cheers Nat.

Also the wheels have been refurbed as should have a silver band as show in Nat's car ,also the exhaust from the picture looks black it should be chrome denoting sports switchable ,it has at least a 2yr warranty as a plus

If you were buying a spyder with low mileage as opposed to a spyder with 40k on it, like the one here in Belfast, which one would be affected more by adding another 10 or 15k in driven miles ?

What I am asking is, the enjoyment comes from being able to drive cars that I own, how much more would the price be affected going forward, or which cars future value is affected more, by adding miles to the clock, an ultra low mileage example or an example with 40k already done ?

It’s hardly high mileage, I’d rather enjoy the car myself also. I don’t subscribe to it’s a seasonal Car, I enjoy mine whenever I can and only COVID has interrupted that. Mine is PDK with ceramic brakes and I wouldn’t even consider an offer that started at less than £45k but that’s because I don’t want or have to sell it. What it’s worth to me is far greater than it’s perceived market value.

what I would say is this, they are getting harder and harder to find in any guise, so if you want one? You better act fast because as the value rises, so does the awareness that the 987 version is the most raw. I really enjoyed 981 Spyder but i went back to 987 as the car feels more alive and the feedback through the chassis for me is better.

but they are all great just drive them, involve people in it, let it sing

Couldn't agree more Stevie, I love driving my cars, I live 10 miles from the Causeway Coast and several stages of the Ulster Rally circuit. I can easily drive stages of it several times a month for sheer enjoyment, not the rally stages at the moment, as I would need studs in my tyres and balls of steel.

I will do my best to drive a 987 Spyder soon and I can see 2021 being my year to take ownership of one. Apart from less feel through the 981 chassis Stevie, what was your overall opinion on the 981 Spyder? I have always pictured the larger engine in a 981 being something that would just be fantastic to experience.

The 981 Spyder was Fantastic I can’t really advise what if anything was wrong, I just yearned for my 987. I knew I’d made a mistake before my 987 went out of view. Perhaps after so many miles across Europe in the 987 we just bonded. Everything is personal I guess, I was advised the new Boxster 718s was terrible, I was given one as a courtesy car and didn’t want to give it back? I purchased my 981 Spyder, drove it for a thousand miles and was enjoying it, I was Approached by a friend who wanted to buy it and the deal and time was right so I sold it. Before the money had changed hands I’d located another 987 and agreed a deal. I’ve since covered another 9000 miles in my new 987 Spyder and was looking forward to 2021 over the Alps, but COVID stopped play. although Scotland sure looks pretty in the summer

Great post Stevie. Definelty makes me realise that I need to drive more and more of these cars to get the experience to feel the differences from car to car. I'm generally so impressed when I drive any Porsche sports car but I think I need to focus more on the details.

I suffer from Tachycardia so that might explain why I need to start using my brain over my heart, or at least letting it contribute !

That's a great love for the 987 Spyder and fully understandable having owned 2

After a Boxster 987 S 3.2 owned for 6 years from new followed by 2 987 Spyders between 2011-2016 my 981 Spyder experience has been nothing but fantastic and after a very long test drive of a 718 Spyder "A" roads, M25 & country lanes I concluded the upgrade from 981 to 718 was just not worth the then extra £25k +++ so I declined to proceed with my late 2020 build slot

This was back on Feb 1st 2020 - Fast forward to December 2020 and all the current turmoil we are living through and I was recently offered a £6k premium on my 4 year old 5k dry miles minter and after careful consideration of what could I possibly buy that could deliver the same satisfaction for my dry weather fun motoring I turned this once in a lifetime offer down No regrets and can't wait to get back out on the dry roads in the near future hopefully
