Are Spyders Becoming Extinct At OPCs!

It wouldn't be me if I didn't pull some pics together. In an attempt to position the 987 Boxster Spyder alongside other icons past and present, here's a bunch of pics including some of my own car.

Having called in to Kellock Towers to do some work, I spent 2 hours on stuff for PCGB and came out to discover this:

Fifteen years I've worked out of that office and never have I suffered the indignity before. I mean, who'd have thought Easter Monday would be treated other than as a Sunday. No bugger else was working, streets were deserted... A strongly worded letter will surely follow. Meanwhile back on thread, my Mrs much prefers Rob's dogs to Cecil's birds [:D]

There's more interesting Le Mans stories at Porsche's website in preparation for their return to Le Mans. 1983 was another year of total domination taking 9 of the top 10 positions. http://www.porsche.com/microsite/mission2014/uk.aspx?pc=SPORT_OWN_GBR-HP I like this story: 1974: Fair play - a question of honour The Le Mans story 1974: Matra against Porsche. And Porsche for Matra. On Sunday, the Porsche Works Team powerhouse with Gijs van Lennep and Herbert Müller is in second place behind the French team. Then comes the unexpected chance at victory: transmission problems force Henri Pescarolo’s Matra into the box. Shortly thereafter, Porsche, which developed the transmission of the Matra as part of a customer order, receives a call for help from the French. And this puts the team in a dilemma: Should they fight for the victory or help their customer and competitor? A question of honour for Porsche. In just 20 minutes the transmission is repaired and the Matra is back in the race. The result is second place behind Matra – and a clear victory for fair play.

Excellent all round! After the Edinburgh day trip a couple of weeks ago, we have done a Lake District Trip on Saturday and return trips to Cheshire yesterday and today. With a couple of local runs I reckon I've done around 1000 miles in the last month, mostly hood up unfortunately. The Zymol has held up very well and it won't need much effort to make it look like Rob's again although she would pass the 6 foot test for most people. My confidence is growing in Porsche's explanation for my wonky fuel gauge. In the garage now it has done 335 miles with a range of 60 and the red light is not even on. This at 29.1mpg. My car is allegedly fitted with the optional long range fuel tank which is not listed on the options for the car when new! I will see how much of Shell's finest I can squeeze in next time I go out in it!

Guys Have tried to upload individual photos of my old 356 but for some reason will not let me keeps saying files to big ,my son can send them to his car site and they will accept them .Any way a few of the car i had sorry in a way i did not keep it but no space in the garage for 3 cars Hope you enjoy . Brian http://s1305.photobucket.com/user/kitchens10/library/?page=1 At that point in time we had 5 cars now we are down to 2 and my sons Honda DC2 lives in the other side as he has no power at his garage to keep in on a conditioner .Any way a daily runner and the Spyder is fine. As you all say it is some thing special and won numerous awards it is original Porsche paint colour as well .

[:D][:D][:D] Marriage is like a game of cards. To start out, all you need is 2 hearts and a diamond. By the end, you want a club and a spade...

Hi Brian The old 356 looks great - immaculate. Sorry, not making you feel any better about letting it go am I. Uploading pictures is different to what I call 'linking them in'. Uploading them to the forum server does have limits on size because it'll take up space on the server and therefore they have to restrict it. Linking them in takes up no space on the server because it is displaying the picture from another source (such as photobucket). On your photobucket page, when viewing one of your photo's, right click on the pic and select 'copy image URL' (or something similar, depends on your browser (by 'browser' I mean Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Internet Explorer, Apple Safari etc.). Then when you're writing a forum post, right click and select 'paste'. You should get something like this http://i1305.photobucket.com/albums/s546/kitchens10/Interior_zps36191b60.jpg You then put
on each end. Click on 'Quote' on this post and see what i've done below.
