Nice. In 5 years time our cars will look like modern classics. In 10 years time they'll be even more sought after by a generation that didn't take to the more modern 981 styling. In 15 years time there'll be a similar photo with all those nice cars plus a 981 Spyder[:)]. In 20 years time i'll sell my 987 Spyder and buy a 981 Cayman GTE, homologated for Le Mans GTE class racing[:D]

Times are changing I guess. The colour back then was silver for these cars, but the colour now is white. T'was the launch colour of Boxster Spyder, Carrera GTS, 991 GT3. I think the 981's have not been launched in white because they're saving that for future 981 special editions[8|]

Rob My wife thought that was very funny even after 42 years living with me [:D][:D]

RED is the new White [:D] Porsche have always had a Guards Red in the range and will continue to do so i am sure .White was the in colour way back in the 80s and like everything else fashions will change and come full circle .Still have my flares [;)] Certainly better than Black will never ever go for one hard to keep looking nice personal experience

I agree - Guards red is a must have in the Porsche palette of colours. I think the solid colours show off the car's lines in a clearer way than the metallics and I don't personally see the benefit any more in paying extra for metallic paint.

Careful now. If Porsche get carried away with mixing up Guards Red and Carrara White, you could end up with something like this... Actually, you could be on to something!

If they can mix Guards Red with Carrera White and get a Danish Backer something really 'rash' might happen![;)]

As much as I love the Speedster I think this one should be called the PIGGY BANK[;)]

ORIGINAL: kitchens Now back and cleaned all the white salt powder off it [:'(] I did notice the front wheel rims are covered in black dust despite having them coated in rim wax a lot more that i can remember in the other car with 17" rims . All cleaned now .. I removed the hood and rear screen as this is the first time i have tried it and noticed that i seem to be missing the rear glass deflector all the clips are there but no screen ,is this standard or a extra as noticed on one site they are close to £380 ouch . Also was given a paint touch stick 80K but in the book it says L84R perhaps John could check his code for me. Will have to check fuel as i am sure the tank must be smaller as the gauge seems to be going down quicker than usual may have some thing to do with my speed no doubt[;)] [;)] If a decent day may venture out tomorrow but suspect the roads may be busy with day trippers being a bank holiday . Brian
Brian Sorry just picked up your query re Guards Colour Code. Confirm my book is L84R. I dont have a Paint stick so can comment on the 80K code given to you but a quick Google looks like 80K could well be Guards.
