And in general it's the same handful of OPC's that are bringing all the Spyders to market. Without counting it feels like there's a fair chunk of Spyders with sports seats. Whether that's because lots of OPC's spec'd their allocation with them or they were popular with buyers spec'ing their own car, I don't know. Perhaps a bit of both. I still think the buckets are more in keeping with the ethos if the car but it shows there's market for the cars without them.

PDK - still not sure if I like it or not - sometimes I think it's amazing and sometimes it drives me mad!ORIGINAL: daro911 You little tinker[]Â is your car manual or PDK
Point of order flat6 [] You know what you have to do. How far away is that new car from dyllan's spec - heated seats and all that?
Totally agree with you!ORIGINAL: flat6 I still think the buckets are more in keeping with the ethos if the car but it shows there's market for the cars without them.
Then you have what I would describe as on 24/7 because the PDK cars with PSE don't seem to have that 20-40mph drop off and also they seem to have more volume from the PSE too ... How does it drive you mad sometimes[&o] New page New Picture of a "WideBoy" might be good for a caption or two SpydermenORIGINAL: homerdogPDK - still not sure if I like it or not - sometimes I think it's amazing and sometimes it drives me mad!ORIGINAL: daro911 You little tinker[] is your car manual or PDK
Awful. Just that.ORIGINAL daro 911 New page New Picture of a "WideBoy" might be could for a caption or two Spydermen Â
If you have it in Sports mode and put your foot down, it sometimes drops several gears. For example, powering out of a corner in a manual (or in PDK manual mode), you might select 3rd gear, but the PDK will sometimes select 2nd (or even 1st!), causing an interesting oversteer moment - perhaps I just need to learn to be a bit more circumspect with my right foot!ORIGINAL: daro911 How does it drive you mad sometimes?
Awful concept or awful photoshop work?? [8|]
I know what you mean now [] Whenever I have driven a PDK I always disliked the Sport mode because it wants to hold on until the redline and as you say if you booted it in 5th gear it could drop back to 2nd in a flash and hit that redline again[] Not much fun in the real world but probably brilliant on a track day In manual mode it is a different experience and much more like a regular stickshift changing up when you want too as opposed to the other way around when in sport modeORIGINAL: homerdogIf you have it in Sports mode and put your foot down, it sometimes drops several gears. PDK has no place in these cars, end of I am so happy I have a DCT M3 ATM as it has confirmed the Spyder and Cayman R need to be manual. I would have been right pissed off buying a Cayman R PDK and then having to sell it for a manual lol Now my search is just for manual ones, but that's not an easy task, when the must haves are buckets and Spyder wheels also. OPC are mad to order cars with the wrong wheels as many did.
I do like how you tell it like it is. Get yourself up to Anglesey and show flat6 and me the way home!ORIGINAL: MrDemon PDK has no place in these cars, end of
I would love too, just cannot make it that weekend :-( I am on the book a track annual Porsche day, and will be doing Donnington evening events and how fast events this year though. But at Porsche cup this weekend free with Porsche and next week end at the German Vmax event in the M3. Getting some RSS lca fitted and some race maxx tyres ready for the events, will go about -1.6 camber I think so still very usable for the road.
Brave to post on here about departing from OEM suspension! Americans seem to like the LCAs you refer to. Will keep my eyes open for other opportunities such as Donnington.
Ironically, I was reading my way through this today. Haven't finished it yet but it gives a summary from the birth of PDK through to the latest developments in 991 GT3 PDK. I also give my vote to manual in the 987. Will fix up the first post. Very poor of me not to notice[&o] http://www.porsche.com/uk/aboutporsche/pressreleases/pag/?pool=international-de&id=2013-04-11
MrD, you will have an enviable fleet with a Spyder & Cayman R[] Do you find that they ride differently?ORIGINAL: MrDemon PDK has no place in these cars, end of I am so happy I have a DCT M3 ATM as it has confirmed the Spyder and Cayman R need to be manual. sadly no bi xenons .also no 3 spoke sprts steering wheel which of course isnt a prob as i can retrofit this but from personal experience retrofitting bi -xenons is a no goer shall keep hunting !!thanks for the heads upORIGINAL: rob.kellock Point of order flat6 [] You know what you have to do. been about 1.5 years since I have been in a Cayman R now, the rear ATB is stiffer and so the car it more tail happy, imo the Spyders a faster and easier car to drive, just seems better balanced. going stiffer all the time cannot be a good thing and just leads to snap over steer and poor wet traction, of which in the UK we have often.ORIGINAL: flat6MrD, you will have an enviable fleet with a Spyder & Cayman R[] Do you find that they ride differently?ORIGINAL: MrDemon PDK has no place in these cars, end of I am so happy I have a DCT M3 ATM as it has confirmed the Spyder and Cayman R need to be manual. You won't find the flat spot as in 2 years I have only had it happen twice when lugging along in say 4th or 5th then flooring it to use the torque and engine reacts like it has triple webbers for a millisecond You won't find the quiet spot it seems to be exagerated silence on manuals only. Both PDK's with PSE's I have driven didn't seem to have it just like you say [&o]ORIGINAL: VvrooomM pdk with pse - I can find neither the flat spot or the quiet spot in my jan'11 car. I have tried several times to see what all the fuss is about without success
