Are Spyders Becoming Extinct At OPCs!

ORIGINAL: rob.kellock So if you buy a 991 in new Racing Yellow they still paint the ceramic brake calipers in old Speed yellow? Clash of the titans!
Stick with the standard stoppers [;)]

You have a keen eye RobK[;)] If the owner hadn't painted the wheels yellow he might've got away with the calipers' yellow differing from the body's yellow. I wonder how much Porsche would charge for PTS calipers:ROFLMAO:

Just received and fitted my wind deflector late tonight so hopefully will get a chance to get out and test it tomorrow .... top off [:D]

For goodness sake! Don't want you getting a chill in North Wales!

Low mileage and heavy spec [;)] but still a lightweight[:D] Spyder here for sale Looks a very nice car for anyone in the market for something slightly different to the normal colour combo's http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/porsche/boxster-987-05-12/porsche-boxster-987-gen-ii-spyder-2011/1300313

IIRC he's not had that long - and is asking more than he paid for it! It's been discussed in the thread when it was for sale last year.

What's wrong with asking a bit more than you paid for it ...PROFIT is not a dirty word .[;)] OPC do the same all the time. Not my choice the black but like the red interior a bit different ..note it is his 3rd so knows his Spyders..and looks a nice spec Raining here today so has put open top driving on hold [:'(] Brian

ORIGINAL: MrDemon It's his 3rd Spyder lol If he just bought a White one to start with [:D]
If it is his 3rd surely by now he must have had a White one! If not what were the other colours[&o] :ROFLMAO: Glad to hear Brian is keeping his car nice and dry today [;)]

Prof flat6 will be very interested in your findings as he is an ex Cayman owner too You certainly have it covered now Cayman R for the bad weather trips and Spyder for [8D] Look forward to reading your back to back comparisons

Spec, it's all about spec , so at that point it was expensive :-( but my main things it had to have were. Buckets seats Manual of course Spyder wheels AC, (it's a coupe it needs it) Radio (it's my new daily driver) PSE Leather dash was a option I wanted but would have bought one without, but it also has Leather dash [:D] Sport shift I would had added but it has that also And it has sports crono I would have loved a red one, but never seen a 2nd hand red R for sale :-( whites nice but I have a white spyder, so launch colour it was. Pick it up Friday quite a few R's for sale , but no manuals, so hard to find these types of cars. Also the ones without Spyder wheels are sitting for sale unloved. I will be interested to see if it's faster with the larger dia exhaust system Porsche fitted over the Spyder one, and of course the over steer is more than a Spyder hence the slower laps times on smaller tracks.

Sounds like you have just acquired the ideal anorexics garage dream machines[:D] Fantastic specification for sure (take it you have the full leather option as well as the fab carbon buckets) and best of luck with your new daily driver can't be many Cayman R & Spyder owners on the entire planet Looking forward to your first impressions

Indeed - just interesting that cars of this age should be depreciating, but Spyders seem to have picked up in value over the last few months.

I feel very happy and very fortunate to own both at the same time, I have not seen the car in person yet, I paid 2k deposit subject to inspection when it arrives at my local OPC Friday am. yes it's full leather spec, but I like the alcantara wheel better, o well.

Mr Demon Very nice car indeed ..like the colour nicer than the boring whites on here [;)][;)] get my coat [:D] One of our members up here has just bought one but is PDK. daro911 I tell you what i will drive it in all weathers if you promise to come up and clean it for me afterwards [;)] Going out on Sunday to a cleaning day with the club i bet i am the only one with a car cleaner going in than coming out [:D] Went Topless today ... no difference to my previous Boxster nice to get the hood down and enjoy alfresco driving

Nice to get both cars in launch colours, I think the Cayman R looks great in the green. Good spec too. I once spent an hour and a half swapping between 4 manual and PDK Spyders and Cayman Rs at the PEC on the handling circuit. The difference between the Spyder and the R was remarkable. Remarkable to me that I had the ability to actually notice LOL. [:D] I personally preferred the Spyder which is a good thing but the R must be a great drive on the road. Enjoy.
