Are Spyders Becoming Extinct At OPCs!

Guys That old question again Insurance ...due on 1 May current provider Aviva quoted £271 with £750 Excess 5 years protected bonus 3k miles ...happy enough but if i have an accident i would want the car to go direct to a Porsche Approved Repairer i think they will just use a national repairer on there lists . Waiting on one who use Porsche approved getting back to but suspect it will be considerably dearer . Any recommendations re companies who use PAR . Brian Out for a wee run down the coast whilst the sun is out

Erm, Aviva? I use them via Porsche Insurance who were surprisingly competitive for me but not as cheap as you have just quoted. Of course, your insurers only dictate the bodyshop when you make a claim off them - if the crash is someone else's fault then you choose anyway. I would be surprised if Aviva would not let you take a car as special as yours to an approved bodyshop?

Deals on Wheels anyone :ROFLMAO: I can't see the point over the stock issue [&o] [link=http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/boxster-cayman/223562-boxster-sypder-19-bbs-ch-r-wheels.html]http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/boxster-cayman/223562-boxster-sypder-19-bbs-ch-r-wheels.html[/link] [link=http://www.google.com/url?sa=i&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&frm=1&source=images&cd=&cad=rja&docid=KWAYeVmnsFbZ6M&tbnid=MG_w6m0kHdCxcM:&ved=0CAUQjRw&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.6speedonline.com%2Fforums%2Fboxster-cayman%2F223562-boxster-sypder-19-bbs-ch-r-wheels.html&ei=_B94Ub31A6Tt0gXWs4CQBA&bvm=bv.45580626,d.d2k&psig=AFQjCNGXrm64KECnnypm_KBHYg8-AWFzWg&ust=1366913235748617]

Prof flat6 will be very interested in your findings as he is an ex Cayman owner too You certainly have it covered now Cayman R for the bad weather trips and Spyder for [8D] Look forward to reading your back to back comparisons
A great pair to have. Congrats! I am indeed interested to hear how they compare under simultaneous ownership. I'm also interested in your reason for wanting to have them both? Is it to have the open vs closed roof option on a platform you love. Or is there more to what you are looking to get out of them in terms of differences?

My past dailys have been Cayman to TTRS to GT3 to M3 to Cayman R in the last few years I also seem to have a fun car ie Elise to Exige to Noble to Spyder. I did not get on with the GT3 at all, that's for another thread , so I got the M3 in Feb but due to the silly deals BMW are doing the cars dropping in price at more than 1k a month along with daft insurance renewal and 14 mpg I just bailed out of it for the Cayman R. I looked at a few cars to own as a fun daily, but when push come to shove what's out there to compete with the R ? Evora S is a nice car, but again dropping fast in price, high tax and sub 20 mpg when pushed. Not a 911 fanboy NOT BUYING NEW ever again on my wages... Don't want to be lazy and buy an auto box either as that will come in the future. need boot space for work to move IT kit. So as a daily the Cayman R fits me perfect :) as for owning both, I just cannot part with the Spyder it is a very special under rated car and I cannot let it go just yet. yes you get people saying it's just a Boxster on forums etc but it's nothing like one.. My issue is while I have the Spyder cars like the V10 R8 or a F430 are out of reach price wise, but I could sell both and get one if I wished, so tough choice keeping the Spyder and not selling it to fund a F430. I have not been excited for ages about owning a new car as I have so many and my count is 50+ now but I am excited to get the Cayman R which must be a good thing.

130 cars lol < I thought I was bad the hardest part is the other half, she thinks I am mad Not told her about the R yet, but I get it later today ...HELP!!!!

"the hardest part is the other half, she thinks I am mad " she may well be right....but you wont find many on here agreeing with her [:D]

All very interesting and logical when put like that[:)] I guess after owning 50+ cars and the Spyder is making it hard for you to let it make way for another fun car, says a lot about the Spyder[:)]

Tell Mrs D you may be mad but you are successful [:D] Good luck with the "R" hope the weather improves later today for you

And the new Brand Ambassor for Porsche is...[&:] http://www.porsche.com/uk/aboutporsche/pressreleases/pag/?pool=international-de&id=2013-04-22

they wont sell them and they dealers will get scared of them again. I would not buy those in and put them at 42k with no buckets or PDK those need to be 35k cars. do they still NOT know the market ?

Have any Spyder owners actually weighed their cars on a weigh bridge? I have read the stat sheet, but not interested in internet BS, only what a car weighs in the real world, with spare wheel, roof, tools and 1/2 a tank of fuel....as you might actually use one. cheers.
