Are Spyders Becoming Extinct At OPCs!

ORIGINAL: flat6 Let me indulge myself in a few more pic of my black [wheeled] beauty until we shift focus onto yours tomorrow [;)]
Absolutely stunning if I do say so myself [;)] !!! I'm not actually a 'convertible' kinda guy, but went for the Spyder over the Cayman R simply because of the way it looks. Even with the roof on, it looks like a concept car that accidentally made it into production - & at an attainable price. I'm actually most intrigued by just having the sun cap on without the scarf. With the forecast tomorrow and a 3.5hr journey home on the motorway, it's looking like full wet weather gear unfortunately :-( ... But hey, I'm picking up my Spyder! [:D]

Thanks[:)] We're the same. I'm also a coupe man who was won over by the Spyder being the furthest engineering exploration of the 987 platform. THE lightest (and lighter than the 981). The lowest CofG. The biggest revision of the shape. Heck even the door window glass is a significantly smaller shape. One of the most memorable experiments of the 997/987 era. Be sure to takes some souvenir pics before you set off back home i.e. before it gets dirty[;)]

Geeforce new page new pic[] I will help you out today[:D] Good luck with the new car today and hats off to you - I would have bailed out and waited for the weekend when we are looking at dry cloudy again

Let me know how you get on trying it out :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: Did you order your Spyder from new or did you just happen to come upon a seriously lightweight example

Typical, I've got the day off, but no chance of driving the Spyder today, not with the top off anyway! At least it was nice at the weekend...

I bought it as a xmas present for myself, in Dec 2011, it's one of Porsche press cars, but not the main hi used thrashed one, must have been a 2nd or 3rd one. Press cars are always faster :p as they are built from scratch as a press car on the production line, , not added later to a press car fleet, so who knows if Porsche tweek them like Ferrari press cars ! I love the spec, leather is a must have for me in a 65k car and the PCCB are awesome. here is the only review with my car in I can find. :) , it is rev range 3 clear though lol http://youtu.be/OEKI7VknmTs

A Spyder that clean shouldn't even be shown what's happening out side of the garage doors today

Cool pic [;)] I forgot you also have black wheels. They've been talked about quite a bit lately, with Brian considering them and Geeforce having his done prior to collecting his car today. Are yours grey or black inside the rim?

I keep thinking about black wheels, but like how silver shines, so just fitting nice Black bolts and locking nuts. black bolts in SS should look bling on the silver wheels I hope. I have a set of Black Spyder wheels any way I can try. my plan is to have the best Super sport roads tyres on my black rims and the Race Maxx on the silver rims. then swap between cars depending what I need to do with them.

Nice piece of history to have with the cars CV especially as he only drove it for 90 seconds[:D] How many miles were on the car when Porsche let her go

Mine are black inside, so not original. The silver rim is a bit thicker than the genuine ones too - I thought about having them re-done for reasons of authenticity, but will probably only do it if they ever need refurbishing. Personally, I think black wheels look great on white cars!

no idea, I'am the 4th owner and done >3k miles so less than 5k on it when I got the car, the last owner was a Piston heads member who did a few k then the owner between Porsche and the 2nd owner. I guess more and more of these cars will have a few owners now, bit like GT3 ownership they tend to change owners every year.
