Who did the wheels for you and do you mind sharing the costs and time taken to do [ORIGINAL: homerdogMine are black inside, so not original. The silver rim is a bit thicker than the genuine ones too - I thought about having them re-done for reasons of authenticity, but will probably only do it if they ever need refurbishing. Personally, I think black wheels look great on white cars!ORIGINAL: flat6 I forgot you also have black wheels. They've been talked about quite a bit lately, with Brian considering them and Geeforce having his done prior to collecting his car today. Are yours grey or black inside the rim?![]()

The previous owner had them done. I presume he got them done through the OPC, in which case it might have been done by [link=http://www.slrestoration.co.uk/]SL Restoration[/link] in Crawley.ORIGINAL: daro911 Who did the wheels for you and do you mind sharing the costs and time taken to do [] My last quote from Porsche Official bodyshop was £200 per wheel incl of VAT[

Many thanks ... Have you had any chipping issues on the black gloss as I have heard the factory wheels can sometimes suffer from this [&o] I really like the very shiny semi gloss silver finish used on the Cayman R Spyder wheel and the latest 981's with the 20" copiesORIGINAL: homerdogThe previous owner had them done. Congratulations you just pushed our "forum" onto the Podium [ORIGINAL: homerdog One so far, only happened last week, but I think it's inevitable that wheels will get the odd stone chip, I try not to worry about it!

I agree! I did think that the silver lip looked wider but thought it was my eyes. Still looks cool nonetheless[8D] The Carrera Sport wheel has an even wider silver rim when painted black and looks good too.ORIGINAL: homerdog Mine are black inside, so not original. We have reached a very significant milestone in that we are now third in the charts, which is based on the number of posts. http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/searchpro.asp?searchfor=active It's pretty impressive really as the 2 threads above us are in the chat room which are inherently self perpetuating and cover a wider range of topics as they continue and so we'd have a hard time catching them with mainly a single topic of discussion. What is also of interest is that the thread we have just passed is over 2 years old, whereas this thread has only been going for 8 months. What is also of interest is that the thread in 2nd place has ~10000 fewer hits, which suggests that whilst our thread has fewer posts (but has also been going for about a year less) it must have quite a large audience. And who should get a lot of the credit for this? The Boxster Spyder! Yes, it's because the car is what it is that has given us so much to talk about. Long may it continue!

To my mind, it's the perfect sports car. It looks special, drives superbly, is practical, well built and reliable. Oh, and it has no roof! On my recent trip to France, it got loads of attention from the locals, but all of it in a good way. On their quiet B roads, and with the sun shining, I couldn't have wished for a better companion (apart from Mrs homerdog, of course! [ORIGINAL: flat6 And who should get a lot of the credit for this? I was given a discounted price by the local Wheel Specialist franchise of £320 for all 4 i have passed on loads of work to him from fellow owners . Did notice that the black showed up a lot of dust marks and they where not even on the car ,so may be more difficult to keep clean .I still like the red lip on the black wheel and think it would look cool on my Red Spyder They paint them not powder coated also would do the Graphite shade which is also nice . Couldn't let the occasion go by without a video, but they're becoming increasingly hard to find. Nothing much to take away from this one except his statement at 4:30[
