ORIGINAL: GeeForce Just got back safe and sound. 4 hour journey home in the pouring rain, which wasn't ideal but very much expected. But hey, I don't care...I'm officially a Spyderman!!! Too knackered to post pics, but certainly will do in the morning! Car is phenomenal & absolutely gorgeous [:)]
Good work fella ;-)

Welcome onboard Geeforce. This may come in handy to refine your preferred technique [;)] (I don't fold the roof as many times but that's just my preference) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ny8qcnhrkBs So say to lay the rear screen flat in the boot rather than roll it up, so that's what I do.

flat6 as a daily driver can you confirm if you think you could beat the speed (lack of) shown by the demo man in the video[&o] Anyone without an actual Spyder watching him would think we are all mad [:D] 5 minutes V about 45 seconds with electricity[;)] Only had my roof up once since getting the car back in Feb 2011 and that was to satisfy myself everything was OK as it had been in the boot for nearly 2 years!

For sure daro. The 2nd video in this post below, from the previous page, shows how quickly in can be done[;)]
ORIGINAL: flat6 Couldn't let the occasion go by without a video, but they're becoming increasingly hard to find. Nothing much to take away from this one except his statement at 4:30[;)] so just enjoy looking at the cars and deciding which on looks best[:)] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HceLRw87-GE He makes a meal of the roof at the end, as all journalists do. Here's how it's done quick style [;)] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=12__6p--A9E

Have to say that demo is like watching paint dry ....and not once does he have a smile on his face [:'(] I always tuck in the metal hook on the passengers side in the slit provided it stops it hitting the body work or side glass window . I roll the scarf up but not as he does i do it per the instructions in the card and book ,if your scarf is to be permanently left off i would leave it flat in the boot area with a soft cover to protect the plastic . Hope you enjoy the car Gee Force ...weather sunny up here today and tomorrow is to be 20 deg [:)] so i will enjoy it [;)]

It's a training video deliberately done slowly so you can see the steps. It's no use to anyone who knows how to do it. In the faster version above the steps can't be seen. It's interesting how there's so many slight variations. I was taught by the OPC.

So, has anyone checked the stats today as I submit post number 2990 on page 150 of this encyclopaedic Spyder thread? The roof videos amuse me - flat6 has a better technique than me with an extra fold that stops the risk of anything metal touching the inside of the boot lid. I always thought I did it as per the manual - which as Brian points out, is different to the video! I know that when it starts raining, my wife is a very adept assistant and we are ruthlessly efficient and back on the road in no time!

Are these car waterproof [&o] I am sure I read in the Spyder Bible not to be driven in anything other than dry conditions :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: Even Porsche's official Spyder brochure clearly shows you a car taking shelter from the wet stuff[8D]

:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: You'll scare people off with talk like that! It's amazing though how no one talks about the roof concern any more now the truth has come out that it doesn't leak. Rather than journalist who tested it in the dry, took a guess after driving Morgans, that it must leak[:D][:D]

Doesn't this Spyder look really cool and relaxed waiting to be unleashed (in the dry)[8D]

Do you mean stats for the thread of the state of the market?

Looks like he has set of wheels for every occasion .thought all the US cars had Bumberettes fitted .Like the Spyder only badge but not the black exhausts tips prefer the chromed ones

Black tips means no PSE and last night project for my car was the return of the Spyder badge[:D] Took longer to place on the actual car than refitting fresh double sided tape. If anyone wants some 50mm wide tape I have miles of it to spare

You want to treat your Spyder to a tidier garage [:D][:D][:D] I meant the thread stats flat6 but I have remembered how to check them myself now! I think this thread is now the Spyder bible!! edited to add - liking the Spyder only badge

Unfortunately slowly but surely Mrs S has infiltrated the garage and keeps nicking a spot here and a spot there [&o] I am planning an eviction day if I lose another inch [:)]

Brian, that red car does have bumperettes. The pic is taken dead straight on and does look like indentations but tell your brain that they are actually protruding and you'll see the bumperettes. It's a trick with the shadow and lighting that makes it almost look like it could be either[;)]
