Was taking a guess that they weren't Michelins as they have such a shallow tread on the outer edge. Should've added Pirelli to my guess list of "not Michelins" [ORIGINAL: GeeForceThanks flat6. Yep, the car was at idle. You can hear the diff, but it's not as prominent as it was in my old 996 C4S (and that did sound good!). Tyres are actually Pirelli PZero N2 - still the original set apparently (not surprising due to minimal mileage!). Will get to work on that interior ... once it bl00dy stops raining!ORIGINAL: flat6 Looks the business[] Yeah if you've had high winds on the motorway, you'll have heard the worst from the top. It's all up and up from there. Not teaching you to suck eggs but, I have seen people revving a car and switching the PSE on an off. In that scenario the flaps cannot close until the exchaust gasses had reduced, so switch it at idle revs and you should notice the difference. Sorry if i'm stating the obvious. What tyres did yours come with? I'm guessing Bridgestone or Goodyear[
] You just need a shot of the interior now to complete the album[

Just catching up on some interesting topics amongst the flurry of posts
Did they also do a magazine article on the car. They can't possibly have borrowed it just for that short video summary, could they?[8|] I can't find a decent length review of the Spyder by autocar. Just seems odd that all they made was a 90 second summary of a car such as the Spyder.ORIGINAL: MrDemon here is the only review with my car in I can find., it is rev range 3 clear though lol http://youtu.be/OEKI7VknmTs
How is he doing that? Is there a technique or you just push the gear lever really hard?! I also note your intended weight saving with the battery (and the wipers). I must admit that the thought of weight saving, whether i'd feel it or not, is part of the attraction of wanting to switch to bucket seats - along the lines of, "that is what the car was intended to have - the lightest of whatever is available". The other attraction is of course the way they hug. Is there anything else you'd like to do beyond the battery in terms of weight saving?ORIGINAL: MrDemon here is a good vid, how to beat a PDK box in your manual the guy is a current race driver and is flat shifting his Audi TTRS manual. http://s123.photobucket.com/user/jonnnny28/media/APRTTRSStage3On-Board_zps8ab856f7.mp4.html quite impressive shifting speeds and no lift on the accelerator.
You can tell the light weight vs the cayman r and the cayman r is lighter than a Cayman. So yes, I would do the exhaust maybe, the PSE is a big fat lump and would offset the battery up front. Plus I really like the R sound and it makes the Spyder sound too quite, I'll do a back to back sound file at the week end of both PSE. But battery, and exhaust will be the 2 biggest items to loose a lot of weight, Carbon recaro pole's would be another, and I would def have those if my car had sports seats not buckets. The buckets save a bit, but not as light as you would think. Ofcourse leaving the roof at home helps also. Car goes in for it's geo tomorrow, but still not decided which car yet.
Why has that RED Spyder got it's suncap on[:-] Looks lovely and dry to me[8D] So J4 why are you not topless as the car was designed to be 24/7 as long as it isn't rainingORIGINAL: jdpef356 Out and about on the R24 WOTY![]()

Would love to hear sound files. What's the difference between the R and Spyder exhaust? Can you make a Spyder sound like an R? Any idea on costs? The r has a bespoke 55mm larger dia system, vs the Spyder which is a 48mm one off a normal car. Hence the R giving out 330bhp, all be it I bet with a Porsche ecu tweek. Gert at carnewal sells the r system if you want a bit more Bhp and keep oem. Change the manafold and these cars would be 350bhp which would be great at 1200kg's That 996 GT3 RS power to weight

Dealer probably thinks Turbo wheels make all the difference[&:] or Perhaps the head of sales took for a drive. They must've added a few hundred £ for each of the options. Don't they know that Porsche options that are either comfort or cosmetic add very little on re-sale[&:] Especially on a Spyder[&:][&:] It says "Door Handle Interior Surround In Exterior Colour". I wonder how much they think that's worth vs what it cost as a 'Porsche Exclusive' Option[&:] With that unique option, I think this car changed hands a few months back. I never forget a door handle[

Mr D I have been told by Gert the following which is pretty much what you suggest except he seems to think the PSE isn't the answer for better sound and bhp[&o] "The Cayman R uses an exhaust with a bigger inlet tube for both their standard and PSE exhaust. The tube is 55mm compared to the 48mm for any other 987-2 Boxster or Cayman including the special versions like black edition, spyder etc. Having modified both the CaymanR and standard exhausts, I can tell you that the benefit of the bigger tube is minimal. If you want more HP and more sound, the best option is to upgrade the manifolds. The manifold on the mk2 987 have the primary and secondary cats inside and is the same for every 987-2 Boxster and Cayman including the Spyder and R. The 2x 2 cats are replace by 2 HJS "HD"' trimetal high flow cats especially made for the Porsche DFI engines. It gives an increase in sound, HP and torque and is fully compliant with emissions."ORIGINAL: MrDemon The r has a bespoke 55mm larger dia system, vs the Spyder which is a 48mm one off a normal car.
