Are Spyders Becoming Extinct At OPCs!

ORIGINAL: homerdog
ORIGINAL: flat6 Are you also looking to switch to manual? Or have you got manual - might not be remembering correctly who's got what.
I've got PDK, but wouldn't mind manual - although spending three days with PDK in France has gone a long way to convincing me how good it is!
We'll be watching closely to see if you swap into a bucket seat manual car, or even a bucket seat PDK car [;)]

Someone did and they did not think much of it![] http://www.alexandersprestige.co.uk/porsche-boxster-spyder-34-pdk-1

That was the one advertised a month or so ago by private seller .... nice car and lovely spec could happily live with it and nice low mileage ...but not those wheels.

some on has just bought a Spyder with turbo wheels on and bought a set of Spyder wheels on piston heads. not sure which car though. only 4 again on the OPC lis the car he has just bougt is this spec so not the one above Car is a 2010 with 10k White Manual Sports chromo Extended leather inc dash Pse Aircon Sound plus, USB & phone White dials & hoops Short shift Parking sensors Sport seats What's odd was the Bristol car was £38,995 yesterday now it back up at £42,990 only manual OPC car with buckets for sale though with 2 years warranty.

Wow, a lot of movement. And the Aberdeen car came and went very quickly, which was expected. The car at £41,500 has gone but I don't recall the spec as a number of the cars hanging around very very samey samey. That must've given Bristol a confidence boost. So, effectively they are trying for £4K additional profit on top of a price that was profitable before[:-]. Expect to see more private sellers flooding the market when they see this one for £43K.

That price for a low mile 2011 car would be exceptionally optimistic but on a 10K miles 2010 car complete madness []

ORIGINAL: VvrooomM I've thought about having one of the three sections retrimmed in red alcantara as a highlight.
Heated Buckets!Nice Touch Indeed http://www.planet-9.com/987-cayman-boxster-modifications/68014-red-alcantara-inserts.html

I got around to doing the wiring for the heated alcantara inserts. Here's my findings: 1) The heating elements that Heritage installed included one in the back padding, and one on the bottom padding. The switch between high and low works by running the 2 elements in serial on low, and in parallel on high. 2) The OEM heated seat switch does NOT work in the same way. There is only 2 wires coming from the OEM seat heater switch (+ and -) Using a voltmeter, I discovered that on the high setting, output is a full, constant 12V. However, on the low setting, the voltage output switches on/off every 5 seconds. 3) Since the mechanisms for hi/lo on OEM vs aftermarket is different, I wired the aftermarket switch to stay permanently on high, and then sourced the power through the OEM power output for the heated seats 4) Result: I now have heated carbon bucket seats that use the OEM seat heater switches. My only complaint is that the high setting is not quite as hot as my original P77 sport heated seats.

Innovation knows no bounds. I certainly wouldn't crave seat heaters, but for those who do at least it shows there's an easy way for them to have their cake and eat it[;)] But the red inserts look professionally done and no doubt has given VroomM food for thought...

Yes. I have seen a couple of cars at the PEC that were badly damaged there. I am keeping a close eye on mine. There is something hard and angular inside the seat towards the rear part of the side section on mine that looks like it will wear through prematurely.

You trying to say iv'e got a fat a*** or something [:D][:D][:D] I tend to move the seat back a bit when i get in and out it helps as they are not the easiest seats to exit and enter .Not noticed any wear in the bolster at 3657 miles [;)]

This wheel seems to be popping up in other countries. Don't know if perhaps it was a winter wheel option, in countries where winter tyres are enforced... I dunno. But they suit the car even less than turbo II imho http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=paD9of5hYfw&feature=related
