John - that car is the bottom one on my list from yesterday. All those expensive extras - mine also came with a glovebox, door bin delete and no spare wheel. Cost me a fortune I can tell you.

Does the Spyder look good from every angle? You can make your own mind up by looking at this link that probably has almost every angle covered. (No, it isn't my flickr account) http://www.flickr.com/groups/1245439@N25/pool/

I was invited to a 'come eat', 'come drive' event at my local OPC where you could take any one of the model range for a test drive. I would've chosen the 991 Turbo S but that is yet to hit show show rooms. I would've instead chosen a 997 turbo, but they're not current. So instead I chose the 991 Carrera 4S PDK. It was not their usual test route that includes some country lanes, perhaps so the hired in driving consultants wouldn't get lost. The route was mainly on major roads and I was stuck behind traffic for most of it. Anyway, I don't know if it was because there were 3 adults in the car but I thought it didn't feel very fast at all. I looked down at the name plate near the gear leaver, which said "Carrera". I thought, that makes sense then. None of the 3 occupants were particularly big. But when I got out, the name plates on the sill said it was indeed a Carrera 4S. I was a bit underwhelmed by the performance (though a previous short drive I had in a 991 Carrera S felt more spritely both in performance and PDK responsiveness) and also the choice of route, so not much I can report.

Its Martini livery would look good on a white 991 GT3

I had the 991 c4S PDK with all options also on loan the other day. was board after 10 minutes. Yes a nice car but, that was it just a nice car. Nice noise at 8k revs though, but low down as you noticed performance was nothing to get excited about.

Martini Racing livery would look good on a track day - less cool when you get stopped by the rozzers on the M6 for speeding! Last Carrera S I was in felt very quick from the passenger seat - but then so does the Spyder! Sounds like a bit of a let down and what were they thinking of going 3 up in a 911?
