Are Spyders Becoming Extinct At OPCs!

Edinburgh car now SOLD still to be removed from site stock list ....comment from salesman a good deal of interest on these cars and a easy sell.

Thanks Brian. Bucket seats with PDK is proving a popular combination. Or maybe PDK was the buyer's must have rather than the seats...

ORIGINAL: jdpef356 I know we are talking different events but:- I would say the Silverstone Classic is for me a better all round experience. Walk the pits old and new, see the cars really close up, talk to the mechanics and drivers. Watch the racing from any seat or standing point you wish to choose. The infield is full of car clubs stands - this year over seven thousand cars including our own Spyder stand.[8D] Included in your tickets a full race card on all three days and Evening rock concerts on two evenings. Over a 1000 911.s on track breaking a world record headed by some of the most famous names in Motorsport. Club dinner dance in evening with Derek Bell Guest of Honour. Take you ear plugs out and take a look at previous years[;)] ------------------------

John that's a great sell. I had only become aware of Silverstone Classic because the Porsche Club's annual event is in conjunction with it this year. I hadn't yet got around to looking more into the SC event format. As you say, a very different type of event but looks like a great day out[:)]
Flat 6. This event sells itself![;)] I first started going when I joined the club many years ago. I have been every year since. One or two days is not enough, I always go on all three days. Talk about value for money? £87.95 for three days! And it does not end there - because its BOGOF - so two tickets each day, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, That equates to less than £15.00 per ticket per day and infield parking.[;)]

Agreed - it's the stand out car on that list. edited to add - I like the Spyder badging, it's better than when it was bare - keep toying with the idea of doing it to mine. John, SC is undoubtably a great event, I went to Le Mans Classic last year and many of the same cars/ enthusiasts do both events. At least at Silverstone the lap times are a bit quicker so when everyone disappears, you don't have to wait 10 minutes for them to come past again.

Good work RobK. No doubt we'll be ticking them off one by one as they go[:D] A few in there don't stand themselves out from the crowd and will hang around a while longer I guess, some having been there for a while already. Conversely, those are the ones buyers should try to negotiate hard on, if they're not fussy and want a 'good' car at a good price. The OPC Leeds car falls into that category I think.

You sure do see lots of classic tackle at the Silverstone Classic it's no wonder flat6 soaks it up for 3 days:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

[:D] Are you going to the R5 regional event at the Oulton Park Gold Cup?

ORIGINAL: flat6 How very dare you daro! I've never even been to Silverstone Classic[&:] John is the 3 day soaker-upper!
I live approx 100 miles away from Silverstone. Up early every morning and travel down at around 0600 - no traffic down the A14 to the A605. The 605 has quite a few roundabouts but where have you seen a speed camera near a roundabout? - well not on the A605 anyway. Fast in Fast out, slow down and wait for the next one. Then the A43 - see the early morning Hot Balloons launching from Silverstone at a distance - tune in Radio Silverstone listen a bit and then before you know it you are at the main gate - tickets out and your in. Straight to Club stand help set up and then a Cuppa and Bacon Sarnie. Make the return journey late that night and enjoy the drive again.. Have done this every year now for a long time, some years in the 356 and others in the 993. I'm really Looking forward to giving the Spyder a early morning airing! [;)]
