Agreed and it was initially the stand out car for me although maybe the 1961 Ferrari 250GT SWB Berlinetta just pips it for me? I hope I have got that right, I don't really know my Ferraris!ORIGINAL: flat6 Nice[]
As always every time I went up to the car there are loads of people asking about it, not many people know what it is still, and it seems a hit with the younger kids all taking pics, (I think the cars in a game now) and of course the only one thereORIGINAL: flat6Considering that the 981 moves the Boxster design on considerably, the Spyder looks like it could've just been launched when against the backdrop of some older metal, whereas the current Jag XK cab behind it does not IMO.ORIGINAL: MrDemon at the local show last night .![]()

The owner was a friend of a friend and many years ago he kindly insisted I drove his fresh from concours restoration Daytona ... So he not only owns and uses his priceless cars but doesn't mind others enjoying his pride and joys too https://www.google.com/search?q=clive+beecham+ferrari+collection&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=0I3eUau6GejC7AbZkIHQAw&ved=0CAkQ_AUoAQ&biw=1280&bih=675ORIGINAL: billy1 Well, not priceless exactly. Apparently the owner is quite happy to pop to the shops in it. He also owns the only UK based 275 NART Spider (back on topic).

Would have to be this one if ever I was tempted over to the 'other side' The little 246 Dino in GTS guise would suit me fine!ORIGINAL: daro911 Local Classic Car show a few weeks back before the nice weather arrived but it was certainly a Millions of £'s worth of tackle affair ... 1st one held so hopefully might become an annual meeting with even more cars []

That was apparently 100% factory original with just 13k miles to date and one classic car dealer said he could probably get £4-500k for it as the best original low miles example in the world today[ORIGINAL: jdpef356Would have to be this one if ever I was tempted over to the 'other side' The little 246 Dino in GTS guise would suit me fine!ORIGINAL: daro911 Local Classic Car show a few weeks back before the nice weather arrived but it was certainly a Millions of £'s worth of tackle affair ... 1st one held so hopefully might become an annual meeting with even more cars []

Great article. There was a get together of these cars for their anniversary last year at Classic Le Mans. Jamie Wilson and I were having a breather in a champagne bar when over a dozen of them drove past right in front of us - what a sight that was. The ride height of the Dino is complete comedy compared to modern cars but it's still a lovely thing. I've never driven or ridden in a Ferrari = not even the Rover SD1 model [ORIGINAL: daro911 Very famous model Ferrari raced by Stirling Moss - Priceless http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2273381/Classic-Ferrari-raced-victory-Stirling-Moss-expensive-car-sold-Britain-going-7MILLION.html

Not quite Rob, those were 250GTOs, and this is a 250 GT Short Wheel Base. Last GTO to sell was for circa $30m.ORIGINAL: rob.kellockGreat article. By all accounts he's a thoroughly decent, enthusiastic, collector. My boss let me drive his Daytona one sunny afternoon - not a car for me, but a wonderful experience nonetheless.ORIGINAL: daro911The owner was a friend of a friend and many years ago he kindly insisted I drove his fresh from concours restoration Daytona ... 1954 Jaguar XK120 Roadster - Got it's name because of its top speed and this example configured on a proper XK120 Chassis is a John May special built for a classic car collector. It took over 3 years to complete being strongly influenced by the Le Mans winning D Type for its interior, with 6" dials in an angled "D" dash board It has a 4.2 litre 330bhp engine and does 0-60mph in circa 6 seconds! I found the catalogue on all the cars on show that day [ORIGINAL: dyllan if only "ronaldo"wasnt in the picture!![]

Thanks Daro. I had no idea what car it was. The interior design and the cockpit separation caught my eye.ORIGINAL: daro911 1954 Jaguar XK120 Roadster - Got it's name because of its top speed and this example configured on a proper XK120 Chassis is a John May special built for a classic car collector. It took over 3 years to complete being strongly influenced by the Le Mans winning D Type for its interior, with 6" dials in an angled "D" dash board  It has a 4.2 litre 330bhp engine and does 0-60mph in circa 6 seconds!  I found the catalogue on all the cars on show that day []

This looks like Jag has some true ambition and an appetite & funds to carry it out, even if not this particular concept. They've clearly got the idea from our Spyder but have added horsepower as it's their halo model, whereas our is not, because of the 911. Would be good to see them make this. It was essential timing for them too, to bring something attention grabbing to Goodwood this year as it's Porsche's Goodwood year with the 911 50th.ORIGINAL: daro911 Checkout the F Type Spyder while you are there looks like Jaguar are getting serious about the future of their sports cars [] http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/jaguar/f-type/64907/jaguar-f-type-project-7
