Are Spyders Becoming Extinct At OPCs!

I think the whole FB page has been pulled
Very poor for a dealer to get involved in a public slanging match, no wonder they've taken it down - I think somebody will have some explaining to do! BTW, crest, locking wheel nut and valve all aligned, Rob can breath easily! [:D]
Phew, thought it looked good :) FB page pulled - sounds like an admission of liability to me LOL

they did pull their Face book page, it was going viral It was on a few forums with screen shots, which was funny. every single one has been pulled along with the dealer face book page. things happen quick on the net

How utterly incompetent. Glad you can see the funny side. Next time you want a go in a Fiesta dress appropriately, irrespective of the weather. Don't bring the Spydermen in to disrepute.

Or arrive in your Spyder and park outside the front door where they can see it and that'll have them roll out the red carpet - pre-judging you as worthy[:D]

I did not even want to drive it, that was the funny thing about it all. My gf is quite short and would only buy a car she can drive ok and see out of. They wanted a full RRP order for a new car before a test drive, even though they had 2 in stock and one was a demo car with dealer stickers on it. You can guess what I might have said to that, and then it went down hill a bit sharp. I said forget it we are leaving and that's when it got a bit nasty on both sides.

My first attempt to test drive a Porsche didn't go well. I hasten to add it wasn't at any of the 3 OPC's that I currently frequent. I made an appointment to test drive a Cayman S on a Sunday. I drove over and was a little late but there was still half an hour to closing. It wasn't busy in there but I was made to wait for about 15 mins before someone came to see me. It was obviously then too late (maybe half an hour 'til closing was too late but they didn't say that). Then I was shown to the car, which was locked. I decided not to ask them to open it as I got the impression they'd embarrass me with a "No". I looked around the car for a bit and it was getting close to closing time so I had to remind them that someone needs to look around my Alfa GT Blackline so they can go get a value in the morning so we can discuss about buying this Cayman. They sprung into life. Then the following day they were on the phone offering to drive the car many miles to me for me to test drive, to save me coming back (and this OPC wasn't local). Anyway, the part-ex value offered made it a non-starter so I declined them bringing the car over. Then a couple of days later a higher priced, higher spec'd Cayman S came up at OPC Leeds. They started off with a better part-ex offer and after negotiation I paid less in cost to change than on the other car and I got a much better car than the original one I was going to buy (wonder where my Cayman S is now, i'd like it back[:)]). A couple of weeks later the first OPC rang back to ask if i'd found a car and also for any feedback. I told them that it was off-putting that I had to convince them I was literally going to buy the car before I got any attention (also told them that I could afford the deal they put on the table but didn't feel it was competitive as i'd previously told them I couldn't afford it, just to close negotiations, but then felt I had belittled myself further on top of what they had). He politely accepted what I said and said he'd feed it back.

Maybe the ST attracts many a boy racer coming in just for a blast in one but if a saleman's technique is soured by a few bad experiences, he needs to find a different line of work. As you say, it was your GF who was going to drive it, so he clearly wasn't listening or letting himself see beyond whatever has happened before. He needs a new occupation if he's going to attack any male wanting to buy a ST or any female boyfriend who's brought along with them to buy an ST lol!

Mr D years of experience have taught me the only way to get things done today due to all the wonderful obstacles that can be legally placed in front of us at every single twist and turn is go straight to the top and let the fallout commence [:D] Best way to get to that top dog ...simples .... www.ceoemail.com

Whilst on foot a Spyder drove past me this morning. Its rare I get to see a Spyder in motion, from the outside AND not being busy behind the wheel of mine at the same time i.e. on a track day). The thing looked great and even though it was a black one (just saying that black is the most discreet colour) it stood out from everything else that was entering the office car park (not my usual office). I can see why people who see one often call out to you. Not that i didnt know before , but having seen one today drive by whilst I was stood still, gives an additional perspective on its lines. Its hard to explain.

ORIGINAL: rob.kellock Updated list! Leeds car has had a big reduction on OPC website but still at original price on other sites.
ORIGINAL: rob.kellock So that leaves OPC cars as follows: (all cars should be manual, Spyder alloys and bucket seats unless stated otherwise) East London - White - 04/10 - 20k miles - PDK - £37980 Byfleet - Silver - 03/10 - 14k miles - heated seats - £36995 Leeds - Black - 07/11 - 10k miles - heated seats - £36500 Pistonheads adds: Shirleys - Black - 2011 - 10k miles - PDK/turbo alloys - £39995 private - White - 2010 - 22k miles - £33900 Autotrader adds: Ridgeway - White - 2011 - 7k miles - wheels / "that" interior - £39990 Icon - White - 2011 - 7k miles - PDK / seats - £37500 Cameron - White - 2010 - 10k miles - £36990 Yorkshire Classic - White - 2010 - 5k miles - sports seats - £38995 Brian adds: Border Cars - Silver - 2011 - 10k miles - £38000 This gives 10 cars advertised for sale via the most obvious sources. The average used Spyder has an asking price of £37684 with a mileage of 11500.
The 3 remaining OPC cars show that age has little relevance. The cheapest car is almost a year newer than the other 2 and has much less miles. I can only assume they're not getting many enquiries about it, hence the £3K price drop. Why? My guess is because it doesn't have any spec items that would make someone rush out and buy it rather than wait to see what else comes to market. It doesn't have PSE or buckets. Not saying everyone wants those. But nor does it have something else that might make someone forego other items they have on their 'must have' list. Nor does it have PDK for someone who wants that above all else. I'd say the only thing it has that might make someone rush on it now is its new price, which is competitive for a car with its low miles and 2yr warranty. Will London's 20k miler now be the one left 'til last? Who knows

So we have often played the game 'Which one will sell first?' Now I slight variation. Which one will sell Last?[&:] The Ridgeway car would be my guess with the terrible colour combo White/Red Interior, and all the wrong bits!

I agree, Ridgeway by a mile.

Wrong wheels [] Wrong "colour" chairs for most [] Wrong chairs for half the potential buyers[&o] Wrong gears for half the potential buyers[&o] Someone out there must feel it is worth a punt despite being the runt of the litter or whatever the equivalent Spyder expression would be :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

ORIGINAL: MrDemon Some Asian will buy it. They love white and red with auto gears.
And this MrD ... is prob an example of why you have so many forum haters across multiple forums. I do wonder if your issues with Ford were down to your attitude rather than anything else. Laws of attraction Mr D. Just sayin' (p.s. I'm Asian ... And I hate red leather and not a fan of auto gears on sports cars)
