why don't you come to donnington and see a whole load of Porsche's on track, bring a helmet and get free pass laps, I'll take you out in mine also. and it's free.

Obviously the Scottish Spydermen will not be in attendance [:(] but the offer of a meet in Sept is still on the table [;)]

Normally would .ove to but have a bbq to attend and I wont be flavour of the month at home if I fail to show...! Shame - have a great day though. Gaydon could be a plan for September .... will check dates. Anyone else around this Sunday for a minimeet in Egham?

Brian weather permitting![&o] I intend being there with you and hopefully some other Southern Spydermen might fancy the trip up the M1 too[;)] It would appear the OPC East London Spyder is now sold and in it's place they have a 32K mile Cayman R

why no PCGB Silverstone pics ? very odd, not seen a single pic of the event, only people moaning how bad it was organised.

There are ....go to General Porsche Discussion Area under the headings ...listed Silverstone Farce stuck in car park ..... page 5 and 6 unless you want to troll through the whole lot Silverstone Classic Photos page 1 Some stunning looking cars quite an achievement and you will always get moaners .I used to be an RO ,remember they are all volunteers ,if you don't like the way the club is going step up to the plate and volunteer your services and make changes . Brian

The Events were great back in the Day, then it went down hill the last few 6 or 7 years and numbers dropped right down and I thought things had picked up again. I did want to go to this one but I was in London on a film shoot with my car. Was just expecting Spyder pics a plenty here. As for me doing it, I am self employed and have no time to do that sort of thing. But the Brands Hatch events back in 2005 was about the last great one, the few after that were dead, so I stopped going to them.

ORIGINAL: kitchens http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xd4PlrgNr-g&feature=youtu.be This is a car show i went to last week if you look closely you will see mine ,not the usual show i would attend but have to say the cars on show where amazing and possible cost a lot more than mine with all those mods .I am in clips 1.22--1.25 and then again 16.53-16.55 if you do not want to see the whole video . Have a great weekend at Silverstone for all that are going Brian
I think you win the prize for getting the Spyder out there & promoted in shows the most. Good on ya[;)]

ORIGINAL: flat6 Welcome again Kenny[:)] As has been said before the Spyder does look good on the Carrera Sport wheel painted black. Its the only other wheel i'd entertain the thought of keeping. It's also the wheel Porsche chose as the only option on the 997 GTS for those who didn't want the RS Spyder centre lock wheel.

Thanks flat6, just back from a run in the Spyder tonight, may not be as fast as the GT3 RS but great on the twisty bits, still loving it! Kenny Spyder ps: Has anyone had trouble with the plastic mesh that sits within the roll over hoops? My passenger side one has broken clip and fell out, the drivers side one dosen't exist. Are they there for a reason? Do they do any good?
Hi Kenny, as others have said, an oversight in the OPC's prep is typically rectified without quibble. Its not good but I guess the 111 point check and whatever else they do may be fairly generic and the only person to spot it (& not raise it) was the valeter[:)] I must admit its part of the reason I like to buy from an OPC because if I miss something until after i've purchased or a non-warranted wear & tear issue becomes apparent, I can and have gone back time & again to get the sorted FoC. After all, they make a good wedge on the car they've sold so a few hundred quid of follow up remedial work is nothing for them. Its something they would've sorted in prep had they not missed it and the cost wouldn't have affected the price they put the car on sale for.

I'm too far up North to join you guys but it's good to hear that Spydermen are going to meet up. We are few and far between. When robK and I met up to do EVO triangle it was great fun[8D]

Gents re meetups. I think we have a similar scenario as The Club did when set up.[&:] It would seem from recent post that meetings down south, up North and somewhere in between are already taking place. (ie Regional meets) What would be nice is if we could all meet annually. (Much like our club does for National events) For this a bit more long term planning is required. Lets see what next years National event is. If event location suits most and we give it the Nod we could try and make this our National meet. If not we need to look at an alternative event/venue.

I agree John. The Club's national event probably provides the biggest incentive for travelling & the highest probability of getting a good few of us together. 1.) Some people will be going anyway 2.) Will be able to display the cars 3.) Have all the other of events of the day & displays/attractions etc to make it a worthwhile trip for those who have to travel really far.

not if its £25 per person a ticket to get in, not paying £50. there are loads of Porsche events, National RS track day, national Porsche track day. (AT least those who then want to see what the car can do can join in) OPC meets etc etc Silverstone have one at their OPC twice a month. Loads of free places to meet up, if people can be arsed and don't back out. I have tried to do it for Spyder owners and R owners before, did not get much response. The Piston heads Sunday services are also great meet up events and free and there have been 3 at one of those this year. Next nice event is Classic at the castle on the 8th Sept, that will be a great event, but I know some will be going to TIPEC on that day. People seem to not like travel, hence doing a meet up seems impossible, But the fun is getting there imo esp if you can meet your local guys on the way.
