You're damn right wingman! So good we went back! In fact, we are about due another lap... My difficulties are balancing being self employed with a business that operates 24/7/365, having 2 children with me 1/3 of the time, trying to keep on the right side of wife #2 and keeping a watching brief over 91 year old Grandpa. Getting to monthly PCGB meetings has always been a priority socially but I have really struggled with events this year sadly. MrD has a great idea with Sunday - nationally central venue with track action and loads of safe parking (Gaydon also has similar attractions but without the track) although both are a hell of a trek for Scottish Spydermen. I am amazed that Sunday got so few takers - the guy who's idea it was isn't even going now and the thread has been on Pistonheads for 4 months! Maybe people who buy unique cars like the Spyder don't want to be seen with too many other Spyders as it makes their cars less rare! The most central part of the country is said to be Dunsop Bridge - a stone's throw from R18's monthly meeting point - perhaps you should all come round to my place? [ORIGINAL: flat6 When robK and I met up to do EVO triangle it was great fun[8D]

I was shocked after 4 months of pushing for a meet for this Sunday we have NO takers on Pistonheads , and it's mainly a Porsche event lol OK Zyp might turn up
hence why I would not put my name to one now and waist my time on it. There are loads of great events throughout the year, all people need to do it turn up to them, no need to do any extra events. so might see some of you at Classic in the Castle
on the 8th Sept. new page not a Spyder pic, but my R filming in London for a TV pilot

agree £25 a person is way over the top and coffee in a stately home doesn't do it for me either.most of the meet ups are north of Watford and the m25/m1 is a nightmare so a 3 hour motorway drive each way is not exactly fun, give me a nice A or B road. been to classics at the castle which is a great day out but the price keeps getting pushed up and once you have done it there is no appeal to go back. went to a pcgb event at Arundel castle a few years ago which was well priced and a great day out and some nice roads on the way .ORIGINAL: MrDemon not if its £25 per person a ticket to get in, not paying £50. there are loads of Porsche events, National RS track day, national Porsche track day. (AT least those who then want to see what the car can do can join in) OPC meets etc etc Silverstone have one at their OPC twice a month. Loads of free places to meet up, if people can be arsed and don't back out. I have tried to do it for Spyder owners and R owners before, did not get much response. The Piston heads Sunday services are also great meet up events and free and there have been 3 at one of those this year. Next nice event is Classic at the castle on the 8th Sept, that will be a great event, but I know some will be going to TIPEC on that day. People seem to not like travel, hence doing a meet up seems impossible, But the fun is getting there imo esp if you can meet your local guys on the way.
Can you spill the beans on what the pilot is or about[ORIGINAL: MrDemon new page not a Spyder pic, but my R filming in London for a TV pilot![]()

Hi all - I've been a lurker on here for a few weeks since joining the club, but now's the time to say hello! I put the idea up on Pistonheads about the Donington get together, and there seemed to be a reasonable level of interest at the time. I now have a bit of a quandry that there don't seem to be many attendees now, so my choices are between the PCGB event at Lotherton Hall nr Leeds (relatively local, with a back roads run to it, and plenty of Porsches to look at) and Donington (1.5 hours down the motorway, and a couple of Spyders going). Or maybe I can fit both in - now there's an idea [

Job done, OPC Edinburgh made aware of broken mesh on passenger side and missing one on drivers side a few days ago and both should be in stock for next Monday at zero cost to me as you would expect although they appeared slightly reluctant to replace the drivers side (which was never there) for some reason, not sure why. Oh and by the way cost is..................... wait for it................ £83.00 each!!!!!! plus vat I was shocked that this could be charged for a small piece of plastic, to be honest the quality of the item is pretty poor, at least on the one I have. Kenny Spyder.ORIGINAL: flat6Hi Kenny, as others have said, an oversight in the OPC's prep is typically rectified without quibble. Its not good but I guess the 111 point check and whatever else they do may be fairly generic and the only person to spot it (& not raise it) was the valeter[ORIGINAL: kenneth ritchieThanks flat6, just back from a run in the Spyder tonight, may not be as fast as the GT3 RS but great on the twisty bits, still loving it! Kenny Spyder ps: Has anyone had trouble with the plastic mesh that sits within the roll over hoops? My passenger side one has broken clip and fell out, the drivers side one dosen't exist. Are they there for a reason? Do they do any good?ORIGINAL: flat6 Welcome again Kenny[] As has been said before the Spyder does look good on the Carrera Sport wheel painted black. Its the only other wheel i'd entertain the thought of keeping. It's also the wheel Porsche chose as the only option on the 997 GTS for those who didn't want the RS Spyder centre lock wheel.

] I must admit its part of the reason I like to buy from an OPC because if I miss something until after i've purchased or a non-warranted wear & tear issue becomes apparent, I can and have gone back time & again to get the sorted FoC. After all, they make a good wedge on the car they've sold so a few hundred quid of follow up remedial work is nothing for them. Its something they would've sorted in prep had they not missed it and the cost wouldn't have affected the price they put the car on sale for.

Can't be easy. I try to fit in one long distance event a year if it's something I really want to go to. Apart from that I'll to make some local events arranged by the region or neighbouring regions.ORIGINAL: rob.kellockYou're damn right wingman! So good we went back!
