Are Spyders Becoming Extinct At OPCs!

Time flies Dyllan - that was a few days short of a whole year ago[:)] http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/tm.asp?m=720168&mpage=1&key=&#720168 And you have a fellow Spyderman to thank for scuppering your chances of bagging a real bargain[;)]
ORIGINAL: scaramanga 11/9/2012 Hi all, looking to sell my wife's Boxster spyder. The car is a 2011/61 with 2,650 miles. Some brief details below, I will try to get some pictures uploaded later today Black PDK Bucket seats 19" Spyder wheels PCM/navigation Bluetooth Universal audio interface Sound pack Sports steering wheel with PDK paddles Sports Chrono The car is immaculate, as would be expected for theage + mileage. It also benefits from the 3rd year warranty, so still 2+ years remaining. I've had the Carnewal GT Exhaust fitted which will be removed and put back to standard unless the buyer would like to purchase it (in which case the original will be supplied with he car). Asking £32,500

ORIGINAL: rob.kellock OP, apart from the delivery mileage car at Bramley, your Spyder appears to be the youngest and lowest mileage example currently on sale in the country! If you are prepared to let it go at your asking price, have you tried ringing the supplying OPC or a reputable indie like 911 Virgin? I struggle to believe that a trade bid would be any lower for your car? Given that the total number for sale seems to be in single figures nationally, you would hope that somebody would snap it up and get themselves a bargain. Good luck with the sale
Thanks for the message Rob. To be totally honest, I hadn't called a dealer but was sort of guesstimating second hand value. I called the supplying OPC this morning for a bid, they mentioned low 30s and will confirm Monday. Perhaps the car was advertised a bit on the low side. Truth be told, if a genuine buyer comes along to view/buy, I don't mind selling it at or slightly above the dealer offer. Else will just trade into them. I think the Spyders are going to remain very special, and was advised by the OPC this morning that I should keep it as prices are likely to bottom out around £30k. Could just be salesman speak, but unusual for a salesman to suggest a customer does nothing! :)

I was the only Spyder on track, and as always it holds it's own new page etc, My friend popped over in his car, any guess what it is ?

Looks a bit of a give-away price that. With it's spec, can anyone suggest why they didn't the bidding higher? It's as if they've just looked at the other 3 cars and priced it neatly in between those based on age and mileage. I'd have priced it above the other 3 based on spec. The mileage goes in it's favour and age has little influence IMO. I expect this one to sell fairly quickly.

Might work for Rob K as the wheels crests locking nuts valves all perfectly aligned[;)] Possibly looking at the spec sheet and 2 owners to date it could have been a demo car or PEC car[:-]

I prefer the coloured crests like mine! Kendal is a nice OPC - it has a very long history and used to be called Parker & Parker. Roy Parker and his wife are very regular attenders at R18 meetings and events. Cecil - don't forget to factor the weather of the Lake District into the pricing equation... It's full of lakes because it's full of rain [:D]

I'm looking to change my old Boxster but although the Spyders look great without the tent, I just don't like the roof on them and as it will be used a lot in summer and winter I am thinking of a Cayman R. I looked at one in my OPC (Chester) http://www.porschehost.com/ApprovedStockIframe.asp?opc=29 but it lacked a few toys I want, even though I know they are supposed to be lightweight. I really would like A/C and Sat Nav with phone availability, Sports seats, Xenon's (Though not essential), And a decent colour. What other options would you all recommend?? There is one in London which has most of the toys but it has done quite a few miles and I'm not sure about the colour http://ucl.porsche.de/ucl/plsql/uk/clients.show_car?sid_=4776667380P73HB2I3ASODQSZY9UIKO&pnr_=1&lnr_=10&caller_=

No getting used to the stick change to be honest i have never used the gears from 1 through to 6 by the time i get into 3rd or 4th i am at warp speed and i just slip it over to 6th. My daily drive the Fabia is manual, it is just the last 5 Porsches have been Tiptronic so PDK was my first choice . When it eventually goes as cant see this being the last Porsche i own ( health willing ) it will be an PDK As to the Kendal car Reg June 2010 serviced June 2012 at Kendal was supplied by them and is a one owner as the husband died and the car was re registered by the wife hence 2 owners in the V5

It's a great colour IMO and the fact it is an exclusive Cayman "R" only just adds to the desirability[;)]
