Many thanks for putting these on Daro911, very pleased with Spyder, only a few small areas where I need to do some detailing work and then it will be up to my standard. Kenny Spyder

Yes will do Brian, not sure if there is anything organised before 9th Aug Karting night, however may catch up with you at one of the meeting nights although not sure when next one is Kenny Spyder

Annual porsche track day on the 4th August at Donnington . Seems I am the only Spyder on track though which is a shame. Loads of 964 and the like on track tough so come and have a day out and a chat, ideal time to have a Spyder meet.

Stumbled on this old news the other day whilst it's nice to own a one of one Spyder I couldn't bring myself to part with my money for a car that probably had an extremely rough start out in the crucial running in period too before it's first private owner took charge [&o] It is the MY2011 Meteor Grey Metallic/Carrera Red leather interior Spyder. It was one of the PCNA's Detroit Car Show cars. It is Vin # WP0CB2A85BS745650 and now has 5,216 miles. It is being sold now by dealer in San Antonio, Texas. It was first sold to the public six months ago by a Porsche dealer in Illinois. History: After its brief Detroit Car Show appearance in January of 2011, it led a pretty active life as a 'working girl' in the Porsche World Roadshow. This was the 'driving experience' sponsored by PCNA in conjuction with regional P-dealers at local venues around the country. I, along with hundreds of others prospective Porsche clients, drove it pretty hard at the Candlestick parking lot in May, 2011! It eventually earned 2900 miles on its odo doing this kind of heavy lifting! It also showed up for display at the 2011 PCA Parade in Georgia and back as test driver at The Quail in Carmel during the Historics in August. One of its last driving experience adventure was in the midwest in September! In October, it was released from the PCNA car pool and refurbished for its eventual sale to the public. PCNA replaced seat covers, installed a new steering wheel & convertible top and a did a few other cosmetics touches to the car. However, someone I know had it inspected and they reported back quite a few stone chips on the paint - evidence of 'hard use'! This is not surprising given its role earlier in the year! PCNA ultimately placed it with the Porsche Exchange dealer in Illinois (probably as a result on an internal auction). It had 2900 miles when it got there and was eventually sold to the public in November, 2011. We discussed this Spyder on this Rennlist forum when it came up for sale late last Fall. http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforum...-for-sale.html Still, it is the only PTS Spyder built for the US market in MY2011! Only three others were built in MY2012 for this market - a Riviera Blue, an Azure Blue and a Speed Yellow! It is also the only PDK of the four!

Had a great day at Silverstone Classic yesterday. Was good to meet you John. The Spyder does indeed look good in red, the first one i've seen in the metal. The 911 parade was great to watch. My son was picking out all the different models and ended up going home with a 1:18 scale model of his long standing favourite - the 997.2 GT3 RS.

Pair of nice looking Spyders there. Having been to the GP a couple of weeks ago I can tell exactly where you are! Glad you had a good time, would have joined you if I could.

It was great to meet people (Cecil and son, on the Sunday and Rob (minus car - he looked at a duff weather forecast) on the Saturday. We were also joined by another white spyder from the Northwest on both days. Plenty of interest in the cars so should see some movement in the current spyder market pretty soon. Did take a couple of photos of the cars but have misplaced the SD card - temporarily lost![&o] Great pic Flat 6 - put a note in your diary for next year and we could have a few more spyders on show - with advance tickets as low as £15.00 per day this has to be the best value Classic race/show in the UK.

No Spyders here but some nice shots[:(] [link=http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/tm.asp?m=781783&mpage=1&key=&#781783]http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/tm.asp?m=781783&mpage=1&key=&#781783[/link]

Went round all the car club areas. Went through all the pit garages. That was a real experience, to see so many different race cars up close and their innards. Some of the tyres were huge! John i'll try to upload a few more pics but its a pain uploading direct from the phone to flickr which is all have at the mo. Rob i'll have to look back at my tickets to remember which part of the track were at[:D] It wasn't like me not to study the place but I was knackered for more reasons than one after a nightmare week. I took my son to take a pic in between the blue & grey 997.2 GT3 RS's opposite. The kind owner of the blue one told him to jump in, so it was on with the full harness[:)] Brian, i'll PM you about my plates[;)] I think yours look better though[:)]

Welcome again Kenny[:)] As has been said before the Spyder does look good on the Carrera Sport wheel painted black. Its the only other wheel i'd entertain the thought of keeping. It's also the wheel Porsche chose as the only option on the 997 GTS for those who didn't want the RS Spyder centre lock wheel.

John I will for sure be at another event next year. Don't yet know which one - lets see what and where the Club's annual event is next year[:)]

Thanks flat6, just back from a run in the Spyder tonight, may not be as fast as the GT3 RS but great on the twisty bits, still loving it! Kenny Spyder ps: Has anyone had trouble with the plastic mesh that sits within the roll over hoops? My passenger side one has broken clip and fell out, the drivers side one dosen't exist. Are they there for a reason? Do they do any good?

Ahem. The purpose of the thread is to promote the Spyder, not talk down values!!
