Are Spyders Becoming Extinct At OPCs!

ORIGINAL: MrDemon ok in the right car, in a Cayman R or Spyder a PDK is NOT the right box. :)
I do wish that you'd stop trying to present your OPINION as FACT. The FACT is that for some buyers (over half Spyder buyers in fact), the PDK was the right box. You seem to have no respect for opinions other than your own.
Matthew 7:3-5 :p It's you who seems to have no respect for my Opinion !!! or cannot see the smiley after that quote I made. because it is only that, "my Opinion" :). if you read it as "FACT" , that's your personal issue and not a lot I can do about it. I have never stated my opinion as "FACT" and never posted other wise. now move along :) If you want a grown up chat about PDK vs Manual then state the reason why you think PDK is the box to go for in the Spyder and make your case.

ORIGINAL: daro911 There was no used car premium on 987 PDK cars v manuals but according to the sales people that should no longer be the case with 981's despite the locator today showing 68/112 981's are PDK - 60%[&o] That's still says to me 40% of us want to stick with the stick:ROFLMAO: Same survey on 991 and the result is a resounding success for PDK [&o] 123/140 = 88% of 911's have it so I have no doubt buying a manual would be a major kick in the wallet come sale time [/color]
Would be intersting to know, of the 40% of those 981's that are manual, how many are 2.7. The 991 figures showing a higher preference for PDK may indicate that with more power, the PDK exposes less the tendency of being in a gear that exposes weakness in the engine's power band. The weaker the engine, the more frustrating to be in 7th gear & so PDK probably presents no flaws in the 991. My mate's 991 3.4 Carrera doesn't feel sluggish at all from the passenger seat. Yes I noticed it changes gears a lot when I drove a 991S but that's because it is more reactive than 997 PDK and it needs very little coaxing to come out of 7th. Its almost telepathic and kept the car in the power band even in normal mode.

I appreciate that there are difficulties in getting sentiment accross via text only, but you present "opinions" in such a way as to appear to exclude any capacity for consideration of others' views. Hence "wrong" box/seats/wheels which are, of course, nothing of the sort. If you'd read my opinions on the subject already, you'd have noticed that there's no need to make a "case" for someone's personal preferences. It's akin to making a case for a particular colour. It is stupid and divisive. There are pros and cons and I wouldn't dare to suggest that someone's preference is "wrong". I have the utmost respect for peoples opinions provided that they are not presented in a way that seeks to undermine others' equally valid opinions. For some PDK is the right gearbox, so for you to say it "is NOT the right box" just shows utter contempt for views which differ from your own. It would appear that if your car has something it's the best thing in the world (see - ceramic brakes); any car which doesn't have what you want is worthless (see re: seats, wheels); and anything your car doesn't have should be dismissed as unnecessary (see re: any "heavyweight" option). Why not just accept that what you want isn't necessarily "right"? Or in fact that personal preferences are not "wrong" or "right" in the first place?

NO!!![8|]

The PC Leeds car has gone. The Byfleet car with it's sub-£35K price and the Guildford car portraying a 1150 mile 2011 car as under £36K are doing us no good at all and hopefully will shift soon[:)]

I'm pretty amazed that the Guildford car is still for sale.

Yes Brian, and thanks for the offer to look at the other one in Glasgow. They wanted to nick my car and still charge top whack for theirs. I'm very happy with the one I have bought and hope it is as good as it's supposed to be [:)] So it seems I've become a Caymanman [:D] Not quite the same as a Spyderman

No case for then ? Lol My CR does not have PCCB , but I do want them. :p I best give it away........ As it is now worthless !!! I have all the sales pictures and books on the Spyder and all the cars seem to have bucket seats, Spyder wheels and are manual. Funny that., I could say it's not wrong to spec them out......... but it's bloody stupid lol
