Are Spyders Becoming Extinct At OPCs!

a lot of cars were not on the opc site and still that is the case now.when I purchased my cayman early 2009 it was advertised on pistonheads for £5k cheaper than the opc one!this was also the case late 2011 and I was also finding cars on the group sites ie sytner,jct600,dick Lovett etc that also never made the opc site!at the time a new pre regd delivery mileage spyder could be had for very low 40s I even was looking at a new 997.2s that was priced at low 60s that at the start/early 2012 went up to 70+.the only thing I struggled to find a good deal on was the caymanR.

Haven't read this myself yet but might be worth a read for those interested in the newer cars http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/tm.asp?m=792652

New page new pic - I know, I know its the colour you all want!

nothing I thought about selling both and buying that white R with PCCB. release some money. If I only have one car then I want it white and with PCCB. but cars with PCCB, full leather and xenons are so rare I now don't have to make that choice as it sold very fast for 48k.

Didn't realise the radiators were that big. Looks like it might have hit a deer or something with that screen and body damage.

Just as long as it wasnt an 'Old Dear' that it hit thats OK[;)] Im a bit Surprised the air bags did not go[&:]

Everything costs a lot to repair when quotes are drafted for an insurance company to pay the bill to make it perfect again with all new parts, presumably at rates attributable to a genuine Porsche bodyshop, plus the costs of a like for like loan car for a few weeks, it's soon going to be an economic total loss. This doesn't mean that the car can't be repaired well for a lot less £££. I wouldn't want it though and would never knowingly buy a repaired Cat C/D.

Trouble is, what they want for it, plus repair costs, if it's on the Cat D register, is it really a bargain once repaired. What's a Cat D registered Spyder worth after repair. I dunno, say £25K for sake of discussion. So you'll have to be able to get it repaired pretty cheaply to bother. I wouldn't but it at £25K Cat D even if it looked perfect. Just wouldn't buy it at all as any money is still a lot of money to be parting with.

Cat D is the least damage of the four grades - see http://www.whatcar.com/car-advice/running/what-is-cat-d-/3487412 At least if you purchased this one you would know exactly what was wrong, what needed doing! Far better than turning up to look at something that shines and wondering just how much damage it did have! This one I guess would have to be cheaper to make any sense to a potential purchaser. Good find Mark and if someone wanted a cheap lightly damaged Spyder this one looks like it could be worth a tickle. Whilst I wouldn't buy a Cat D personally I do know people who have done when they had seen how lightly damaged the said car was before repairs A decent body shop could make it as good as new

Dealerships give these away free. When we had a club night at our local, supporting OPC, they had a big box of various posters. I got one of these and another one, same size poster but a full rear end shot of a Spyder. Got a nice. Cayman Black Edition poster too.
