Great wheels I had a set on my TTRS, will look great on the R, good value and lighter also. Tyres, toyo came last in the last Track day tyre test, a very dated tyre these days. Cup v2, trofeo or the race maxx are better it seems. I went for race maxx, but prob would have gone cup v2 if they were out.ORIGINAL: Andy Fagan Well I was hoping to buy a genuine set of used Spyder/Caman R wheels but they are few and far between [] So I am contemplating a set of OZ Ultraleggera or similar, with Toyo R888 tyres which is also part of my plan for next year [8|]
I agree Mr D they're not the outright best but for the price they win hands down. The Pirelli and Michelin are a crazy price! (Not sure about the Dunlops) I'm hoping to do the Speed championship next year and going by this years regs, permitted tyres have to be listed in section 1 and 1a of the MSA book. Also I have used Pirelli on tarmac rallies and when they were cold they were frightening [:-]
The other issue when I was looking is no r888 in Porsche rear 19" size. Would you go 18" for your track wheels ?. I have my race licence but never did any real comps, this might change next year as I might do the midland hill climb series. All 3 of the tyres I listed are on the 1b list as is the r888 , if you are stuck in 1a list then the super sport must be the best.ORIGINAL: Andy Fagan I agree Mr D they're not the outright best but for the price they win hands down. I was considering 18" as they will heat up very slightly quicker than 19's, however they do do 19" in R888 although only 265/30 profile for rear which shouldn't be too much of a problem. I guess you mean Michelin Pilot super sport? I think I'll see if I'm anywhere near the pace before I start investing too heavily [&:]
Nice sunny 20' here today so in no more than a T shirt [8D] went for a last summers day blast and stopped by OPC Hatfield on way back .... Is this anyone on here by chance [] I was stunned to see so many 981 stock/show cars and all the Boxsters were circa £64k and all the Caymen circa £69k sadly not a single manual car in stock including all the 991's How much are the forthcoming 981 GTS's going to run out at unless they come as standard with most the kit the showroom cars today had[&o] i.e. full leather, pdk, sports chrono, sat nav, colour coded interiors, colour coded exterior plastics, painted roll hoops on the Boxsters The stick shift seems to have well and truly had it's day at Hatfield []

I don't think so - Not if HITLER gets his way![][][] Sorry for the repeat but I think its just Brill! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wmrQnvXo7tkORIGINAL: daro911 Nice sunny 20' here today so in no more than a T shirt [8D] went for a last summers day blast and stopped by OPC Hatfield on way back .... Yes, I retained them too. And the rear
not seen RS 29 with those damping weights or sensors before. so even though they look RS29 yellow, As a betting man I place my bet to non Pagid atmORIGINAL: Fire_2 So the damping plates stick to the titanium plates, so what sticks/holds the brake pads (rs-29?) to the titanium shims? also have you thought about removing your brake disk shields? I think they would hold the heat in...(not sure if I've asked you this before :S)
Titanium backing plates are full floating just held with the main pin, they're not going anywhere I think I should be ok with the disk shields in place as I have the GT2/Cup ducts and the EBC pads. They may get a bit warm on track days but will be good on sprints and HC's I reckon.
They're EBC yellow stuff. The bells as far as I can figure are for dissipating the heat [&:] may be wrong though.ORIGINAL: MrDemonnot seen RS 29 with those damping weights or sensors before. so even though they look RS29 yellow, As a betting man I place my bet to non Pagid atmORIGINAL: Fire_2 So the damping plates stick to the titanium plates, so what sticks/holds the brake pads (rs-29?) to the titanium shims? also have you thought about removing your brake disk shields?
