Well they only go rusty again very quickly, however I will be inspecting R18 clips at Oulton [ORIGINAL: VITESSE Pity about the rusty retaining springs-a quick rub with production paper followed by zinc aerosol would have made all the difference--not what Mangetout racing standards allow![&o]

I tried a spray of [link=http://www.i4detailing.co.uk/acatalog/Iron_X_500ml_Spray_Bottle_1.html]IronX[/link] on my metal springs and they came out like new! also I've decided on the performance friction 2 piece floating direct drive disc's over the giro's (£650 vs £1050) would anyone recommend a rear disc upgrade? PCCB seem to have a much bigger disc here?
The little clips on my PSE that hold the braided hose to the back box (look underneath from the back, you'll see what I mean) have rusted clean through for a second time in 2.5 years. Why does Porsche skimp on the little parts like these clips and wheel nuts etc when they end up looking crap?

I like it VvrooomM
seriously thinking about getting the 200cell gert mod now... hmmmmmmm also what to people think on these? [link=http://www.wheelbasealloys.com/alloy-wheels/oz-racing/alleggerita-hlt-5x130/titanium/18-inch-wider-rear]http://www.wheelbasealloys.com/alloy-wheels/oz-racing/alleggerita-hlt-5x130/titanium/18-inch-wider-rear[/link]
you both know mine is the truth
yes if I were tracking more I would look at those wheels, very light, the issue is tyres,, once 18" was easy to get track tyres and now 19" seems easier to get track sizes. also harder to get 18" over the much larger PCCG brakes. But I am told those OZ in 18" just fit over. for track you guys need the front spacers and prob a stiffer rear ARB the Cayman R is stiffer, the Spyder still uses a Boxster one. I will prob get the tarret rear bar as it's adjustable from the stock stiffness to more than the R stiffness. maybe even fit an adjustable front one also. More Camber is not that nice to have really, reduce roll means you can run reduced Camber which means better turn in and better traction ;-)
The only other issue with running 18's is that the car will sit up to 1/2 inch lower depending which profile tyres you go for. If you are struggling with clearance already they may not be best choice.
Funnily enough I believe we were down to one OPC car at almost exactly this time last year (and when all and sundry were saying they'll be £30k cars by now.... er, no!). I wonder if, finally, Spyders will be extinct at OPCs - in which case does this thread just combust or something? Or at least have the errant apostrophe removed from the thread title?ORIGINAL: jdpef356 The RED Towcester car has gone from the Porsche site - just leaving the one White Spyder At Solihull.
When we get down to zero one of the Spydermen will have to step up to the plate and sell their car to an OPC [ORIGINAL: billy1Funnily enough I believe we were down to one OPC car at almost exactly this time last year (and when all and sundry were saying they'll be £30k cars by now.... er, no!). And just 2 black cars on Pistonhead and same 3 remaining cars on Autotrader. I think this is an all time low[ORIGINAL: jdpef356 The RED Towcester car has gone from the Porsche site - just leaving the one White Spyder At Solihull.
I reckon that OPC car will be gone within 2 weeks. For someone after a comfort spec it ticks a lot of boxes. PCM with Sat Nav and Phone. Climate Sports seats, oh and heated[&:] Perfect for long trips to the South of France and beyond[
] Topped off with: Dynamic corning Xenons Sound Package Plus Park Assist to make that journey across the continent that little bit more pleasant through the lonely nights as well as the scenic days[
] P.S. and it's white[

If it sells, yes the 'Spyder becoming extinct at OPCs' concludes. But The 'forum' that this thread now is, aint going anywhere. It's the daily meeting place of Spydermen, K'men and anyone else who wants to have their say in front of a guaranteed captive and varied audience[
] Speaking of having their say. Tracy, I saw your pleasant summary in Porsche Post - Boxster Register, about your 10 years owning Boxsters. Congratulations on getting your 981. The car looks great in white with painted roll hoops and 20" wheels[
] After you've had it a few weeks do come on here and share what it is like living with a 981 and whether you miss the 987[
