Are Spyders Becoming Extinct At OPCs!

ORIGINAL: jdpef356 Well you could say:- Use it as a high days and holiday car say 2K per year. In five years time it would be an average mileage Spyder[;)]
Alternatively find the extra £5k buy the 5k mile white car use it for high days and holidays and in 5 years time it will still be an incredibly low mileage example and worth hopefully a lot more than the extra £5k laid out today especially with interest rates to savers or borrowers being so low still[;)]

I suggested to my wife ,how about i buy another Spyder and we keep the other one we have just for special occasions and keep the miles down .[;)][;)] Rob Kellock ...do you do divorce work?

Think long and hard as you Mrs Kitchens might get the Spyder and you might only get as far as a 4C ... This one not the Italian one [:D]

ORIGINAL: MrDemon All I know is there is zero difference in seat of the pants feel between a purist spec Spyder with ceramics and a fat boy with every extra fitted including different alloys Maybe you cannot but I can :) My car is set to be another 40+ lbs lighter in the next week or so, :)
You're having a lobotomy? Did I miss the forum contribution pot?

ORIGINAL: VvrooomM Couldn't help it, but I find myself breathing in every time I come across a post by MrD!!
that does not save weight, but can make you look better while chatting to girls :)

[Well, its much nicer in this room than outside it [;)] ] Interesting thought John. We've been looking at this market for some time now that it sometimes gets hard to see the woods for the trees, but there's certainly demand strengthening up for these Spyders. Brian, I like your idea of getting another one. Especially as both would be red for you you could do it pretty discreetly. Do all the road trips in one car and turn up to concours events in a championship winning spotless twin car [:D]
ORIGINAL: jdpef356 What 911 V car should do is give confidence to the buyer who is unsure if the car is right for him. (Although a short test drive and I believe that most future owners who are in any doubt quickly become smitten). It should confirm that a short period of ownership will not result in any significant way to the value. ie Up Dow or Marking Time! It will also allow someone with a smaller budget than the average a period of ownership. I reckon you own until end of summer and it would not cost you a penny other than running cost. --------------- Not a comparison but just took a look a car Hire (Boxster S) for Three day weekend. http://uk.hertzsupercars.com/vehicles/porsche-boxster-s/ Over £1260.68 £££££££££££££££££ - and X/S mileage charges! [] Yes just 3 days in Jan not a week! Its almost a no brainier.[:D]

I think considering the weather for the past 2 months the fact a few Spyders came and went in what seems like no time at all with prices as strong as a year ago summer 2014 may prove the most interesting in a positive fashion since the best kept secret hit the tarmac almost 4 years ago come next month [:D]

You're not wrong prof! Can't believe that the issue (talk about first world problems) as to whether the regional reports in Porsche Post are listed in numerical instead of alphabetical order had become so contentious that the Chairman has had to intervene to pass around the pipe of peace [8|] Anyway, let's keep that all off here. Brian could get the 911V car, a second set of number plates made up and run the sister car on the cheap, so long as he remembers to swap the tax disc round when he brings the garage queen out, job's a good'un. [:D]

ORIGINAL: rob.kellock Interesting times daro. Roll on the summer... Am fed up of persistent non-Spyder weather here!
Me too but at least I have been able to literally polish out my garage locked frustrations with lots of carnuba wax in the hope the bloody rain will clear off soon. Unfortunately it wont be this weekend [&o]

Can't beat a bit of quality time in the garage with a selection of microfibre cloths. Well, apart from driving the thing!

That does look shiny! I've been touching in some stone chips recently, I suddenly had quite a few appear in a short space of time. I took the time to sand them down this time, rather than leave blobs of paint on show and the results are amazingly good, you can't even see most of them any more.

Sand them down [][][] that sounds drastic I picked up 2 stone chips with in the first 2 days of ownership ,have a few more it is inevitable even with my light use ,just touched them in .I heard there is a product that appears to be great for this as the paint supplied to my car is not the exact code despite being told it is Guards Red it is a shade out .I suppose if it is White it shows up less than a darker colour

I have been using Harly Canuba Wax which goes on dead easily and comes off with very little effort beads beautifully when washed and shines even a white car [8D] http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HARLY-WAX-car-polish-Harly-Harly-Harly-Harley-Harly-/230355857043 Kitchens for chips I use this excellent but very expensive kit [:-]http://www.chipex.co.uk/?gclid=CIeVgbOOlLwCFUsOwwodMR8APg

I used 2500 grit wet and dry, soaked in soapy water. It leaves fine scratches that are easily polished out by hand with some Meguiar's ScratchX. The results are well worth the effort IMO! [:D]
