I think it is both spacers and longer nuts ... But if they weigh more, aren't identical size to original factory wheels I am declaring myself "out" Over to Rob K for his final thoughts []ORIGINAL: flat6daro911, the brochure says that the 19 inch Fuchs wheels are: 8½J x 19, ET 56 (front), 10,5 kg 11 J x 19, ET 51 (rear), 11,5 kg The Boxster Spyder Wheel is 8.5in ET55 9.7 kg front 10in ET42 10.6 kg rear So, the Boxster Spyder wheel is lighter, but how will rob.kellock[] get the Fuchs to fit? Is it spacers and longer bolts - i've never looked at offsets and all that stuff[&:]? The brochure says 'modifications to the vehicle' is required.ORIGINAL: daro911 Christmas eve and all that jazz .... Interesting factoid The Lamborghini Aventador Roadster addresses the main failing of its Murciélago predecessor. With the fabric roof on, that car was limited to just 99mph. The Aventador gets a targa-style two-piece carbonfibre roof that weighs just 6kg and can be easily removed and stored on board. Roof on or off, top speed remains the same. Nice to know a Spyder with suncap on can leave the far more expensive Lambo Murcielago in it's dust [8D]
Any wheel 'nuts' on here who can impart some expertise?ORIGINAL: daro911I think it is both spacers and longer nuts ... A remarkable fact! So I can out-run a Murcielago roadster by 25mph when its roof is up! Spyder amazes French schoolchildren after outrunning Lamborghini? Regarding the retro wheels - they look ace but as they are the wrong size and heavier than the originals and £4000, I'm with flat6 - Ah'm oot.ORIGINAL: zeb Its ok....but that turbo next to it is much nicer !!!! [] [][]

I take it you don't like them then? [:'(]
I really like them on the cars from that period back in the day ... 2010 onwards isn't the correct day period!ORIGINAL: rob.kellock I take it you don't like them then? [:'(]
I agree [] Quite a nice 996 C4S in the background but an awful smart car with a dodgy private plate B4BY C [][][]
Whilst we Spydermen patiently await the barbecue summer of 2013 I thought it would make a change to get my suncap out of hibernation! It had remained in the boot snugly tucked up for 22 months since the first day I took delivery of my car A few very pleasant surprises came to light It wasn't creased at all. It fitted straight back onto the car like it had never been off and I managed to do this without referring to the owners manual and in just a matter of minutes at a very leisurely pace. Despite the weather being a nice mild sunny December day I took the car for my first roof up blast and was very surprised indeed No rattles No creaks No wind noise at speed But best of all with only the suncap on and the rear section left open I had a very pleasant gentle breeze entering the cockpit and the PSE sounded louder and sharper than when the roofs off - It was simply fantastic and I plan to leave the suncap on until March 1st unless we have an exceptionally mild Jan/Feb Despite the kicking this roof generally gets from most ill informed quarters Porsche design/engineering have really thought this concept through making it easy to fit and once fitted it feels snug and rattle free from within the cockpit It was like I had just given myself a brand new car for Christmas []ORIGINAL: jdpef356 SPYDERS GONE TO HIBERNATE[][][][][][][]
I think the wind noise at speed generally kicks in when the rear window (or should I say weather shield?) is fitted as around 75mph, literally depending on the prevailing wind direction, the "seal" between the top of the window and the roof is broken. Worst feature of the car by far for me, it is simply too noisy on the motorway with the roof up due to wind noise at typical outside lane speeds, more so in Europe.ORIGINAL: daro911 No rattles No creaks No wind noise at speed ... OK as a suncap virgin you have me there because I didn't have the rear screen fitted and as I have never had the cap on before I am certainly not going to ruin the pleasure it is giving by fitting the noisy piece of kit too [] Back to the drawing board for the Porsche designers then [&o]ORIGINAL: rob.kellockI think the wind noise at speed generally kicks in when the rear window (or should I say weather shield?) is fitted as around 75mph, literally depending on the prevailing wind direction, the "seal" between the top of the window and the roof is broken.
