A perfect pic to start page 42. Caption: I can see my bumps in the reflection. Do they look big in this Carrara White, or should I go for Basalt Black? [:D]

"OI!! Who's nicked our numberplates?" What a great find that picture is. I googled them - Porsche Hilton Head. They have a brilliant website - I would have thought that Porsche AG would have dictated that all world wide dealers adopt the same corporate image but oh no, not in Savannah!! From the pop up "Edward: Hi, this is internet sales, how may I help you today?" to the advertised discounts, the cheesy smiley picture of the dealer principal and the offer to lease a brand new Boxster for $599 a month it is pure GOLD [:D][:D] I would have saved the link for you but I clicked off to avoid wasting Edward's time!

As far as I can see from my recent visit to Porsche Naples in Florida they not only sell Porsche on their site but also non Porsche cars presumably taken in px too [][link=http://www.porscheofnaples.com/used-inventory/index.htm?invType=used&reset=InventoryListing]http://www.porscheofnaples.com/used-inventory/index.htm?invType=used&reset=InventoryListing[/link] They also seem to advertise all their other available brands from a group website something I doubt you could do in Euroland where the control freaks from Stuttgart can be far more demanding on their distributors [&:] No wonder our cousins across the pond get a 4 year warranty package from day one unlike us []

Yet some others including this in Knoxville which I visited are "more" Porsche http://harpers.porschedealer.com/ Stock, price and warranty are way better than Europe but then this is the same for all manufacturers due to market contols. I tried to buy a UK spec car in the US but dealers would not try because of Porsche restrictions. A colleague in the US bought a CLS AMG, collected from factory in Germany, free shipping back to US and all at negotiated discount based on sticker price. Like all the Spyders, just to return to thread.....

Hi Ralph Don't know the dealership or area but am I right it appears they are actively selling from the same site Porsche Audi Jaguar Infiniti & VW [link=http://www.dealerrater.com/dealer/Harper-Porsche-Audi-Jaguar-review-30735/]http://www.dealerrater.com/dealer/Harper-Porsche-Audi-Jaguar-review-30735/[/link] If so this is what Porsche don't seem to allow in Euroland [:-]

This PCNA dealership should get their wrist slapped for creating their own descriptions of the cars. In the 2nd link the they describe the Spyder roof as a bikini top and say that it doesn't seal well!!![&:] That could never happen in Euroland! http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:1pi8x9yk8RAJ:www.porscheofnaples.com/reviews/2011/Porsche/Boxster/introduction.htm+&cd=2&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=uk http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:5pAOj0AooDoJ:www.porscheofnaples.com/reviews/2011/Porsche/Boxster/walkaround.htm+&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=uk

That is quite amazing considering back in the day when I bought my 1989 911 Speedster Porsche actually had an official disclaimer explaining that the roof was not water tight and the car should never be put through a car wash etc The same disclaimer was never required on the Spyder so an official dealer making such comments is very strange sales pitch [:D] The following is typical of what the press reported for the 89 Speedsters The production 1989 Speedster wore a unique aluminium framed wind shield that was more than 3 inches lower and raked 5 degrees flatter than that of the standard Cabriolet. One-piece wind-up side windows, lacking the Cabriolet's fixed quarter panes, curved salaciously in concert with the low-slung "temporary" convertible top, a complicated-to-erect fabric cover that lacked the insulation, lining and optional power actuation of that on its Cabriolet sibling. It may have been tough to fit and not totally weatherproof--Porsche actually required buyers to sign a disclaimer accepting some wind noise and water leaks in poor weather--but when raised, the roof echoed that of the 356 Speedster, and made the 911 look deadly sinister.

That's interesting. Imagine today in the days of power roofs as standard, a disclaimer either wouldn't go down well, or would create a lot of intrigue from the hardcore enthusiasts [:D]

ORIGINAL - American OPC: Offering little protection from wind and weather, the Boxster Spyder is ideally suited for summer use only.
Despite the aloominum doors and hood... [:D]

Nice one! I see you're maximising the space with the wind deflector out[;)] Have you carried any other unusual cargo?[:)]
